Everyone seems a bit suspicious at the moment so I have developed a test to see what sort of MNetter you are. Feel free to add questions to the quiz Grin.

  1. You think back to your first post on MN. Do you...
a) Remember with fondness the great article you managed to produce from it. Your editor was very happy that day b) I haven't posted yet, I'm still trying to pluck up the courage. c) think 'I can just about remember that. Has it been that long?' d) My memory doesn't go back that far. I think I wrote it on a typewriter and posted it in.
  1. You see a 5 year old being pushed in their buggy, leaving Greggs, with a sausage roll and fruitshoot, whilst the mother smokes a fag. What is your first thought?
a) I should post that on AIBU when I get home and rub myself whilst enjoying the furore I have created. b) Raise an eyebrow but it's not that unusual. c) I wonder what MN would make of this? d) I bet that's been posted to AIBU by the time I get home.
  1. Before you joined MN...
a) The quality of your articles were of a pretty poor standard. b) It was only last week. c) Had way more time on my hands d) Had no life whatsoever.
  1. What are DC?
a) One half of a band? I think my editor knows them. b) I have no idea. c) My Darling Children of course. d) Those annoying people who compete for my attention whilst MNetting.
  1. Why did you last NC?
a) I had to, MNHQ were on to me. b) This is my first NN, I don't know how to NC. c) I was getting a bit recognisable having posted quite a lot under my previous NN. d) What?! NC?! But then nobody would know who I am!!!
  1. What is AIBU?
a) The best place to get a kick out of MNetters b) The first place I was taken to when doing a google search. c) Just one small part of MN. There are other boards. d) My daily hangout.
  1. You see a particularly nasty, goady thread posted. Do you...
a) Sit back and admire your handy work. b) Wonder what will happen next? c) Brace yourself, this won't go down well. d) Sit back with popcorn, don hard hat, hand OP a flameproof suit and/or a grip and hand out cake/wine/chocolate.
  1. What is a Moldie?
a) Crap, I've been outed as a mole and I must die!!! b) Um, no idea. c) I've heard of this but not really sure. d) We must never speak of this.
  1. Ahem! MNHQ deleted your post. Do you..
a) Shit yourself. You've been caught! b) Wonder what is going on and make note to read talk guidelines again? c) Slap yourself on the wrist. It's not the first time though. d) Ply MNHQ with gin.
  1. You think you have spotted a troll. what do you do?
    a) Put the mirror down and stop admiring your reflection.
    b) What is a troll?
    c) Report the thread.
    d) Shout TROLL on the thread and completely derail it.

  2. You take a look in classics. Do you...
    a) Note some common MNettisms to stop people realising you are a troll.
    b) Think it is great. You might just stick around here.
    c) Remember when the threads you read were originally posted.
    d) Think it's like reading a diary. Afterall, they're mostly your posts.

  3. The last time you used an MNettism you..
    a) were quoting it in your most recent article.
    b) What is a MNettism?
    c) I let them slip in RL now and again.
    d) I speak a whole new language made up of MNettisms.

  4. You think you recognise someone on here in RL. Do you..
    a) Think, 'ah, that's Steve from the rival newspaper'. You finish your article quickly to get it published first.
    b) Worry that you might be outed yourself.
    c) Post on MN for advice about what you should do?
    d) Of course I recognise people on here from RL. Half of them are my friends. In fact we were all together on the last meet up.

A mixture of Cs and Ds Grin

shellyf · 11/04/2013 21:14

B and C been around a while but don't post much.

CharlieUniformNovemberTango · 11/04/2013 21:15

I will approach this test as I do every multiple choice exam.

a lovely pattern of a/b/c/d/a/b/c/d throughout the whole thing....

CarpeVinum · 11/04/2013 21:20

I'm mainly C.

I can't actually remember posting here all that long. It can't be more than a year or three. I think.

I don't even remember my orginal username.

I think "regular poster" means somebody whose name is recognisable though, doesn't it ? Even if I didn't change my name every five minutes I still don't think I'd be a recognised name. So maybe I am a C-.

pointythings · 11/04/2013 21:23

I'm mainly Cs - have been here 2.5 years so not that long, but I'm proper hooked. I use MN-isms in real life, which says a lot...

But I love MN, have had a lot of great support on here about various things, including in some very dark times.

MsVestibule · 11/04/2013 21:24

Just a boring old 'mainly Cs'. Especially question 3.

pointythings · 11/04/2013 21:24

And I've been pointythings all that time, I only ever do seasonal or special event NC (think Harry Potter or Terry Pratchett for the latter, I have eschewed Maggie Thatcher NC although I loathed her policies and am too coy to get into the current craze for Yoni-based names...)

HoHoHoNoYouDont · 11/04/2013 21:30

So after a few years of mn I can do naice ham and pom bears etc etc and i know not to google dragon butter, but is anyone willing to tell me about moldies? What is that about? Please?

Ps hello innermuddle

Pancakeflipper · 11/04/2013 22:19

Mostly C's - is that the boring type ?

thebody · 11/04/2013 22:21

Op I suspect you are mumsnet HQ or a long time poster name change.or a troll and a journalist but whatever it's a great thread.

A.. Trolls and journalists, one and the same and both need feeding. No harm as mostly hilarious and instantly recognisable.

B...new poster/name changer

C...you have too much time on hands/ you should be doing other stuff in RL but mumsnetting is your secret guilty pleasure. That's me.

D.. If you think you are d then best not say as you may sound a bit of a twat.

LimeLeaffLizard · 11/04/2013 22:22

I love a good multiple choice.

All Cs for me!

YoniWhenILaugh · 11/04/2013 22:24

Mostly Cs: You are a regular poster and have been here quite a while.
