To think that Sarah and Duck on cbeebies should have a proper theme tune?

I can't help but feel that I am not getting value for my license fee when the narrator just says 'Sarah and Duck' three times with some lift Muzak plinking away in the background.

Who is the narrator? Was trying to look at he titles as it ended but hey were too fast (presumably to avoid further repetition of the title?!). He sounds like one of the actors from "Cabin Pressure" on R4. Is going to irritate me not to know (sad!)

StellaNova · 10/04/2013 17:50

I think he is the Tory MP from The Thick of It.

Trapper · 10/04/2013 17:51

Roger Allam.

Thank you. I would have been preoccupied with that all evening otherwise!

Yep it's Roger Allam. It's a huge favourite in our house - I love the knitting lady (actually the cook from downton - can you tell I had to
Google it earlier this week? Grin)

OhGood · 10/04/2013 17:54

I quite like Sarah and Duck. And I much prefer no theme tune because less likely to get inside head and drive me to wild reaches of insanity a la Peppa &^%%&(( Pig.

sarahandemily · 10/04/2013 17:57

Yes! We love the theme tune and all join in on the quacks!

NoTeaForMe · 10/04/2013 18:13

I love Sarah and Duck. My husband thinks the theme tune is ridiculous too!

When is it on now though? It was about 4pm but seems to have disappeared!

Chockyeggpants · 10/04/2013 18:14

Love Sarah and Duck!
It's the simplicity that is so appealing.
Reminds me of Mary Mungo and Midge.

Oodsigma · 10/04/2013 18:26

We love it too. Have you seen the one at the fair when duck watches 'hook a duck'in the background?

OhGood you've put that tune in my head....

b4bunnies · 10/04/2013 18:31

don't dare change sarah & duck! not in any way at all. duck! duck! more duck!

today i've seen scarf lady's house, robot juice (again), penguins, donkey, cake bake. yesterday i saw shallots, robot juice, sit shop and stargazing.

there are still some i haven't seen. don't touch the duck!

RainbowsFriend · 10/04/2013 18:33

YABU we love it here - one of the few things that will cheer up DD mid-tantrum "Sarah and duck" says I: "Quack" says DD with a smile :)

Trapper · 10/04/2013 18:38

And what's with those BIG EYES?

OP posts:
SmellieWellies · 10/04/2013 18:41

Today DC 3 (also aged 3) and i ran around the house screeching 'Sarah and Duck, QUACK' FOR HOURS (it seems).

Was fun. :)

PseudoBadger · 10/04/2013 18:44

Sarah and Duck is just pure surreal brilliance. I would actually watch it even without DS in the house.

b4bunnies · 10/04/2013 21:23

i live on my own.

GalaxyDefender · 10/04/2013 21:33

I don't get Sarah and Duck. I like the idea, but the execution is just a bit dreary to me. Much prefer Abney and Teal, which is in the same sort of surrealist vein, but much brighter and more engaging.
However DS adores it, I can usually wiggle out of an oncoming tantrum by cheerfully saying "Want to watch some Sarah and Duck, DS?" Grin

PseudoBadger · 10/04/2013 21:41

Kudos b4bunnies :o

Lots of Shallots is one of my favourites - "turnip, turnip, turnip, quack!"

ThwartedbyMum · 10/04/2013 21:44

Anyone else think Duck looks more like a pigeon than a duck?

WhatTheWaterGaveMe · 10/04/2013 21:51

Sarah and Duck....do do do....Sarah and Duck....

It DOES get stuck in your head!
I repeat "Sarah and Duck" all day sometimes

MsPepperminCreams · 10/04/2013 22:03

Sarah and Duck fly through the air. Like a girl and duck. Super Sarah. Super Duck. Super Sarah. Super Duck.

neverputasockinatoaster · 10/04/2013 22:39

I love Sarah and Duck!

LittleEdie · 10/04/2013 22:44

I like it.

BedHanger · 10/04/2013 22:51

I love it. I'm currently trying to interest my DS in it and wean him off his Abney and Teal obsession. He spent ages at soft play today building a porridge tower :).
