To think that people who are bad buggy drivers...

....should be forced to stand still while someone rams a buggy over their feet or just generally in their direction.

Before I get shouted at, may I point out that the majority of buggy owning people are considerate but I've had several buggy related incidents lately. Some of the pram-style ones are very heavy. I got my foot arthritic foot run over today. I wear sturdy boots too but it still bloody hurt!

I will be first to have my foot run over I am a really bad buggy driver, I am a daydreamer and I get distracted looking at my DS.

I was also very bad at "driving" my big pregnant tummy, I often forgot I was pregnant and would find myself stuck in small gap I thought I could squeze through.

My friend used to say my babies would have 'shaken baby syndrome' from the way I drove my buggy - I was really bad at it

I have to admit, I used to nanny and some buggies are really hard work. I think it should be buggy law that everyone test drives a buggy with a child sitting in it and shopping bags to test their ability.

YABU, just for using the word 'buggy'. It is a pushchair, or a pram.

The way I have seen some buggies treated would make you think a compulsory course on pram pushing should be included in antenatal classes.

The best way to get through an unlocked, but closed door is of course to ram it repeatedly at the doors. Then, when your wheels have got stuck going through yanking it back and forwards multiple times is not going to damage the wheels at all is it?

And looking in the direction you are pushing it is optional as well.

I have actually fallen over a stationary stroller to avoid being run over by a pram pusher coming at me at great speed with the pilot looking behind her while yabbering loudly on the phone.

I share your frustration.

Yes some can be a bit distracted whilst pushing a buggy, I've had a few over my feet, I've never managed to run anyone over must try harder (Kidding)

I was a superb pram/pushchair/buggy driver - fast and effective Sometimes cornering on two wheels if in a particular rush.

I'm a shit buggy driver. I haven't yet mastered getting the bloody thing on and off a bus, or going around a shop without bashing into people or knocking things over. It's harder than it looks!

The only people I ever 'ran over' when DS was in a pushchair were idiots who walked straight out in front of it, or tried to squash past leaving me nowhere to go.

When I first started taking my late mum out in her wheelchair, I was always banging her into things.
I remember getting out of a taxi once and getting her into it but forgetting to put the break on, only to see her careering into a bush.
I felt terrible and didn't piss myself laughing at all.

Oh that would have been me (years ago - my DCs are much older). I have really poor spatial awareness, am crap at judging the distance between things etc - I was a bad pushchair pusher. You'll be relieved to know I don't drive.

oh god, bad wheelchair drivers are scary, my dp had to push me and 2 hour old ds down to the after care ward when he was a newborn and he nearly crased multiple times.

I had an incident a few years ago with dd2. When I was stopped, at the side of a pedestrianised area, not In the way of anything, with the break on, and a mature woman walked into the buggy and went flying. For some reason she thought fit to give me a torrent of abuse.

My husband was crap at pushchairs. He once didn't put the brake on properly, and it rolled into a reservoir. Was very lucky that son was out of it at the time, feeding ducks. Saw pushchair rolling past.....we managed to fish it out though. And continued to use it.

Then there was the time he left another pushchair on the pavement and drove off. Never did get it back. I was supposed to be grateful that he'd remembered to pack the baby.

I'm not good at wheelchair pushing, according to my grandma, I go too fast.

I'm a terrible buggy driver always getting the wheels stuck I also tipped my lat grandmother out of her wheel chair whilst going down a curb! I always let my mum or DH push the buggy whenever possible!! :)

Can I run one into my mother who whenever she pushes my DS's push chair uses the phrase 'oops sorry learner driver' on every one of the billion times she hits someone (she had 4 children, I have 2 she has pushed a LOT of prams/buggys/pushchairs, how much bloody practice does she need )

I've never forgotton the sour face a woman in the Post Office queue gave me when I scraped her ankle with the wheels of my pram. They just turned outwards at the wrong moment.

It was the first time I had taken my baby DS out into town and I felt awful. I apologised profusely but she didn't say anything, just scowled at me.

It did teach me to steer wide around people!

Silver That's horrible. I mind a lot less if people apologise but the bad buggy drivers I've come across have not. Genuine mistakes happen. However, I've seen some buggy owners who think they are the next Lewis Hamilton. [bugrin]

Honeys comment reminded me of me. Three bumps in, I still regularly found myself wedged by the belly because I had forgot to factor in the extra room needed. Spacial awareness got so bad I would try for gaps not even my 10 year old self would fit in.

With pushchairs I can't stand it when you say excuse me, blocker of the aisle moves 0.0005mm and expects that to be enough. No I need actual space not a half-hearted token gesture.

I have run over toes of my own children try not to, but it happens.

Worse are the trolleys with the car seats on top. I have no hope in hell of knowing what any of the trolley is up to and end up bashing a selection of people/stands/ends of aisle every shopping trip. Thankfully I don't need them anymore.

I am dyspraxic and cannot help being clumsy. I try to be aware of people around me and try my best to not bump into them, but I cannot help having poor co-ordination.

I accidentally bumped very fast into a man once and knocked him to the ground. Mortifying Thankfully he was a young, healthy one so uninjured but I still felt awful about it. Have been extra careful since!
