Having always been at work ive never had the pleasure of going so i dont know hat the etiquette is.

Can i take a pram (with a child in it not for putting clothes in) or will i anger the haords and be a pita? Or should i wait til tomorrow and be left with the dregs to shop through?

Don't bother, it's rubbish.

ENormaSnob · 23/03/2013 11:11

Don't bother.

Online is worse, just shite they can't sell.

Flobbadobs · 23/03/2013 11:50

I have friends who get there the night before to get in first, they are officially mad. Don't take a buggy and sharpen your elbows before you set off if you go!

YouTheCat · 23/03/2013 11:51

What ENorma said. It is all the crap that hasn't sold.

Isityouorme · 23/03/2013 12:05

Only go if you want last years shit with broken zips, missing buttons and make up stains .....

Mynameisnotmum · 23/03/2013 12:06

Ne t sales used to be fantastic but have become very poor. Even the quality of the goods not in sale are awful compared to what they where in the past. I remember buying clothes for my now 16yr old and passing around cousins for many years.now my youngest are 4yr old twins and they barely get a season out of their clothing!!!!! I have never seen a retailer go so badly downhill ! Don't know if they will be around in 5 yrs.

Lora1982 · 23/03/2013 12:12

Tut so i cant go do a snatch and grab with a trolly. Il have a go online but its not going to be the same is it. Im on maternity leave so quality is not my pleasure i just need shopping :-D

Don't waste your time, the next sales round our way are a known joke. All the worst crap they couldn't shift reduced to 'bargain prices' aka £4 quid off. Wouldn't even bother online tbh, same shite. Everything I have bought from there recently for the dds had lost its shape/colour/buttons really really quickly. Their standards seem to have taken a serious tumble imo.

TheCrackFox · 23/03/2013 12:21

Don't bother.

Next sales used to be brilliant but now consists of shite they have had sitting in their warehouse for 2 or 3 yrs.

Pandemoniaa · 23/03/2013 12:21

Next sales are awful nowadays. Full of shyte you'd avoid at a jumble sale and all of it "displayed" in a way that suggests the shop has just been ram-raided.

Mynameisnotmum · 23/03/2013 12:24

John Lewis is the place for shopping! I could spend all day and then treat myself to a coffee and cake! Yummy!!!!

Mandy2003 · 23/03/2013 12:37

It stuns me how old some of the gear is - if you look behind the washing instructions label you'll see another little label that has 4 numbers on it like this 03/13. That would mean it was from March 2013's lines. Sale stuff I've seen in the last couple of years regularly goes back to 2009!

chanie44 · 23/03/2013 12:49

I go to the sale and I'm one of those that queue up early. If you don't go early, all the good stuff goes. I know people on here slag off Next but I've not had a problem with the clothes and have got some great bargains.

No, I wouldn't take a buggy as the store gets very hot and hectic and whilst I have seen children in store it isn't very nice for them.

Elderwand · 23/03/2013 14:22

Myname I agree need to buy shares in John Lewis better stuff all round. :)

Mydelilah · 23/03/2013 14:25

I've just flicked through the next sale at Westfield. What a load of old tat it was too. Don't bother....

Salmotrutta · 23/03/2013 14:28

Oh.

I just bought two dresses online.

hopefloats · 23/03/2013 15:26

There are better bargains in the charity shops. And you can take a pram in.

ifancyashandy · 23/03/2013 15:37

The Next sale is shite because Next clothes are shite.

Save your money. Stay home.

WorriedMummy73 · 23/03/2013 15:40

I do like Next clothes - they've always been good quality for my kids and seem age appropriate as opposed to some shops (New Look, I'm looking at you and your padded bras for 9 year olds!), but would never brave a Next sale.

Who are these mad people who camp out overnight? For 25% off a skirt? I would hope that Next also sell grips in their sales!

Eebahgum · 23/03/2013 16:00

I'd never botherfor adults clothes but since I had ds I've been twice and it's great. Lovely stuff. 50% off. Been today (this afternoon, not stupid o clock) & got a bunch of those lovely retro band t shirts. very pleased.

JemimaMuddledUp · 23/03/2013 16:23

I had a VIP sale slot online on Thursday, but there was barely anything I liked. My friend went down to queue for the 7am opening this morning and said it was really quiet (probably due to the snow) but even so she hardly bought anything. Another friend went about at 11am and said that the sale rails were empty.

I haven't bothered going down based on those reports. But I did pick up a couple of bargains in Dorothy Perkins and M&Co, both of which were very quiet with no queues at the tills and changing rooms open to try things on in.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/03/2013 16:41

Well I got a handbag for me, so eff you all Grin

And clothes for the DSs and DH. I do it online though, and before the official sale starts.

Did almost cry when the last one of a dress I ordered in the xmas sale came and was ripped though. Especially as I'd sent back the same full price one a few days before as I'd seen it was in the sale...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 23/03/2013 16:41

I do normally spend about four times what I did though, so it must be a bad one this time

BuntyCollocks · 23/03/2013 17:31

I had a sale slot online on Thursday - I love their kids clothes. I know have two to buy for, and yet I spent a quarter of what I would. This sale was shit
