To wonder about Heather Frost?

I have read various articles in the last few days about a mother of 11 getting a brand new house.

Some articles say she is a scrounger taking advantage of taxpayers money; others say she is a victim of our society.

The main points:

#She has a horse, which daughter Angel, says is hers, but not how the upkeep is paid for
#She doesn't work, but her partner does.
#Most people probably couldn't afford a house large enough to accomodate 11 kids
#2 of her kids have followed in her footsteps, having kids and raising them on benefits
#The childrens' father does not support the family, and refuses to.
#She had her first child at 14, by a 21 year-old, sad, and clearly the victim of abuse.
#She has gone through cancer and can't have any more children
#She completed a 'race for life' for charity, good on her.

Her children seem happy and well cared for, and she shows her concern by really, really not wanting them 'picked on' by the incident.

Your thoughts please!

And this is not a benefit bashing thread!

She is entitled to privacy and so are her children.

Again agree as we don't know her or any of the real facts of her circumstances and actually personally I am not interested.

My thoughts are:

  1. It is very difficult to raise 11 children on none or one income so in some way I believe she is irresponsible for continuing to have children. They are here now however so the situation has to be financially managed.
  1. I am angry that none of the fathers contribute and in that my opinion is the main point that needs addressing.

As for what she spends her money on (benefits or otherwise) I have no comment at this time Grin

I couldn't give a stuff to be honest. I work, I pay my taxes, if others don't then that's their business, just don't rub it in my face when you're getting your custom built house for contributing fuck all except a new generation of leeches.

If people can get away with it, then they will. She can, and she is. shrugs

My thoughts are that we should wonder why so many people in this country are inadequately housed and why families end up in b&bs. That does make me angry.

I would love a horse but can't have one. I would've loved more children but didn't have them.

I must of made a mistake somehow, by being RESPONSIBLE!

Yes, but she clearly has issues, needs to be helped.

Maybe she never dealt with being abused at 14?

Having cancer?

Still, I guess you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped......you can lead a horse to water and all that.......

Yes, I do hope the smugs understand everything in your life which has allowed you to follow a different path, it's not so much your own individual decision as you would like to make but built up from varied influences from an early age.

She is in a crap situation
Partly of her own making
One of 190 families in the UK with 10+ children......not all claim benefits.
Her take on the benefits bill is a fraction of 1%

Among the plethora of news articles about Heather Frost yesterday I spotted a different news item. A had man appeared in court charged with the sexual assault and rape of a 10 week old baby.
Maybe he claims benefits too.....far less than Heather Frost but I know who I would rather support.

A bit of perspective please everyone.

I can understand that some people may not want financial help but surely if benefits are being claimed the fathers have a duty to pay into the system somehow?

she hasn't exactly had it easy - she lost her job due to illness - she has a business plan and was ready to go self employed - then got ill

I refuse to go over this stupid argument again
