Did you eat other stuff too? That's a lot. Did your kids notice? Why did you buy so many? I personally don't eat them so can't relate but do like junk, just a variety of junk.

PickledInAPearTree · 10/02/2013 21:53

Well I suppose some people might be shocked.

My favorite thing to eat of a bad variety is KP beef crisps, I got a big box of those in macros once and that didn't end well.

WorraLiberty · 10/02/2013 21:54

Pickled imo eating 48 creme eggs is greedy

I really can't view it as anything else.

It's pure binge eating and binge eating to that extent isn't funny imo.

I have no idea why the OP started this thread or why she thought everyone would agree it's light hearted and funny.

Some will see it as funny and others will see it as worrying and not something to encourage that's all.

LeaveTheBastid · 10/02/2013 21:54

I actually think people's flippant attitude to OP bingeing on such a ridiculous amount of food whatever it is is more damaging to people with eating disorders than a few people pointing out it may be one. Enabling much?

KnittedCharacter · 10/02/2013 21:55

And the bait was took by worral....so predictable! yawn.

I just kept going to the fridge and getting 2-3 6-8 at a time, I'll challenge anyone to an egg off

How do you manage to grab hold of 6 to 8 creme eggs at a time? My hands are too small!! You must have rather large hands. Blush

Carrying 6 creme eggs? 3 in each hand? I honestly don't think I could, but have no eggs to attempt carrying that many in one hand. I think I could manage 2 in each hand.

Were you carrying them in your hands OP? Hmm

Iggity · 10/02/2013 21:57

YABU. Your pancreas has probably gone into overdrive which ultimately will make you crave more sugar.

PickledInAPearTree · 10/02/2013 21:57

I know worra and so does op just lets get it in perspective if its once in a blue moon it's not going to hurt.

I'm just saying you wouldn't go up to someone with bulimia and call them greedy, that would be awful.

WorraLiberty · 10/02/2013 21:57

She didn't say she would allow her child to eat 48 creme eggs. She said she would let them make their own mind up when they were older, like she is.

No she said...

squeaky yes I would, I'm teaching my son that no food is off limits, if he wanted to eat 48 of the things then I wouldn't stop him, but he's 3 so in answer no I wouldn't just yet but when he makes his own decisions about food then no I wouldn't stop him

She hasn't given an exact age but she hasn't said older 'like she is' either.

Why would't anyone try to stop their child from eating 48 creme eggs?

Bearbehind · 10/02/2013 21:58

If someone came on here and said they had drunk 'nearly' 48 gin and tonics since Friday they would be told they had a drink problem, how is this different?

squeakytoy · 10/02/2013 21:58

I wonder what the responses would have been if an OP had posted that her DH had eaten the same amount of creme eggs in two days... Wink

It's not really the cal count - it's true that 9000 isn't that hard to acrue on a relaxed weekend - it's the idea of eating the same thing, just basically fat and sugar, again and again over the course of 2 days. It's just too excessive to be viewed in that 'whoops naughty me' way.

NoelHeadbands · 10/02/2013 21:59

BB's other postings aren't relevant to me, I was genuinely shocked at the OP and still am.

I do find it repulsive, even as a one off, I'm shocked that more don't tbh. And i don't understand why that means I should 'examine my own eating habits' either Hmm

I'd react in exactly the same way if a friend told me the same. And no, I didn't have salad for my tea Grin

KobayashiMaru · 10/02/2013 21:59

two takeaway blow outs? What would you get from the takeaway that would add up to 4,500 calories? And would you really eat a takeaway that was twice your daily calorie recommendation as well as all your regular meals?

Of course that would be just as shocking. That would also be worrying binge eating.

Squeaky man!

Her husband didn't do it, her kids didn't do it, her dog didn't do it, she did.

KnittedCharacter · 10/02/2013 22:00

Just because some people like to indulge on their favourite foods does not always mean they are not happy with themselves! We just like food!!!!

WorraLiberty · 10/02/2013 22:00

Of course it's not something to encourage, Worra. I don't see anyone saying it is.

But the encouragement on this thread is astonishing!

So many people posting to say they're impressed...not to mention people thinking that no-one should post anything other than YANBU.

kickassmomma · 10/02/2013 22:00

Benbobaggins I challenge you to an egg-off only If it's mini eggs! They are my true weaknes!!

I'm actually very happy with myself and wouldn't feel ashamed or disgusted or feel guilty if I binged? I no how serious an eating disorder is my mum is anorexic and has suffered for 21 years! She eats as little as possible and feels awful for it? That's an eating disorder? Eating what you want and feeling ok with it is not an eatin disorder!Wink

benbobaggins · 10/02/2013 22:03

worra I have put his age, he's 3, and squeaky, if you read all my posting history you would see I'm single, maybe my egg problem is keeping the men at bay?!

OP posts:
Greensleeves · 10/02/2013 22:03

dh wants to know if you have been smoking weed

LeaveTheBastid · 10/02/2013 22:03

Indulge is very different to binge, very different. I love my food, I wouldn't ever in my life dream of eating 48 peanut butter kitkats in 2 days, and that is speaking as someone who was once 6 stone overweight and by all accounts a right greedy bitch.

As I said earlier, t's really shocking that she has admitted that her body can deal with such a large amount of sugar and calories with absolutely no ill effects whatsoever. As a child she used to eat 6 Easter eggs in one sitting?

I've a feeling this isn't as much of a one off as she'd care to admit.
