I go to a coffee morning/playgrounp thing every Friday and all the women are lovely. There is one woman there who I am friendly with but we never met up outside of the group.

We do text each other occasionally.

She wasn't there this morning, so I sent her a text saying - hey, are you coming today?

She sent one back saying - No, I've just got my period and theres blood everywhere.

Now I'm no pearl clutcher but aibu to have pulled this face >> Hmm and thought that was slightly inappropriate?

The "blood everywhere" is a tad TMI Confused

Maybe she thought if she just said "I've got my period" you might think it was a lame excuse, but still.........TMI

usualsuspect · 25/01/2013 20:17

Nah, I would have sympathised with her.

Deflatedballoonbelly · 25/01/2013 20:17

Whoah! Was it put exactly like that or ' No, I have just gotten my period and there is claret all over the shop Grin '

If its the former, Lawks.

MeanAndMeaslyMiddleAges · 25/01/2013 20:19

Periods are natural. I don't understand why we act like they're a terrible secre... Oh wait - that's why people won't sit next to me at the canteen.

TouchofBlue · 25/01/2013 20:20

Yeah periods are no big deal, it was the blood everywhere comment that grossed me out. We're women we know what happens - I don't need the mental picture haha.

Sex is natural but I wouldn't expect a reply that said, "No, my DH is ramming his hairy 8" cock inside me".

Porkster · 25/01/2013 20:22

Yuck. Shit's natural too, but we don't overshare about it. Especially not on a text.

VintageLoveVintage · 25/01/2013 20:23

Worra Grin

Dillydollydaydream · 25/01/2013 20:23

Perhaps her dh responded thinking it was funny?!

MeanAndMeaslyMiddleAges · 25/01/2013 20:28

I'd we worried if his cock was hairy. Perhaps would suggest a trip to the dr?

In all seriousness, bit of an over share for a new acquaintance, yes.

WorraLiberty · 25/01/2013 20:29

Good point Porkster

"No, I'm knocking out a curler and it fucking stinks".

harbingerofdoom · 25/01/2013 20:31

Miscarriage?

MimmeeBack · 25/01/2013 20:33

Worra both those comments made me laugh out loud.

quoteunquote · 25/01/2013 20:34

No, inappropriate would be sending you a photo.

Callmedoe · 25/01/2013 20:36

It could have been two separate incidents for all you know. Like the time my neighbour Gwen's husband Ralph trapped is hand in the potting shed at the allotment, there was blood everywhere then, I don't know if she was on her period too (probably not as she was 64) but you get the jist.

chimchar · 25/01/2013 20:37

It's the kind of thing I would send. Maybe not to a new friend though.

Catchingmockingbirds · 25/01/2013 20:39

Worra, hairy? Really?

OHforDUCKScake · 25/01/2013 20:39

No!

JustAHolyFool · 25/01/2013 20:39

Actual LOL at worra's comments.

Not squeamish about my moontime at all but I don't think there's any need to go into details.

OHforDUCKScake · 25/01/2013 20:41

Akshewally, it is possible to get the odd hair on the schlong when the man gets to a certain age.

Apparently.

WorraLiberty · 25/01/2013 20:42

To be fair, I don't know this man or whether he has a hairy cock.

OP, would you be a love and ask her to text us a photo? Grin

JustAHolyFool · 25/01/2013 20:42

I did think that penises were hairy until the quite advanced age of 17.

Embarrassing.

OHforDUCKScake · 25/01/2013 20:42

Nope scrap that. Apparently old age has nothing to do with it.

Catchingmockingbirds · 25/01/2013 20:46

Just text her back something equally minging; "Mmmmmmmm what does it taste like?"
