I don't know what I'm doing with links, but if it doesn't work, it's a photo of a bunch of men caressing their beer bellies in the way pregnant women cuddle their unborn babies, in an 'hilarious' pisstake.

Am I the only one who doesn't get why this is so amusing? I'm told I'm taking it too seriously and can't take a joke, but I don't think one section of society should have to take being a running joke tbh, especially not at their most vulnerable.

These people have no idea about the experience and physical and emotional difficulties of pregnancy, and their show of insensitivity and ignorance is irritating to me. AIBU?

I think it's quite funny. They're not really taking the piss out of pregnant people they're taking the piss out of their beer bellys. I think you're over thinkin it.

YorkshireDeb · 25/01/2013 09:15

The link does work. I'm sorry, but I found it quite funny. Didn't see it as taking the piss out of pregnant women - more of men with beer bellies. X

threesocksmorgan · 25/01/2013 09:16

Really, you are upset by this??
it isn't something that amuses me, (fat men) but don't see why it upsets you.
being pregnant is beautiful

landofsoapandglory · 25/01/2013 09:16

Oh it's only taking the piss out if those ridiculous pictures that slebs have taken to put in trashy magazines!

I, also, do not think that "you are at your most vulnerable" when you are pregnant either!

Fenton · 25/01/2013 09:16

I think you're taking it the wrong way, isn't it more a self pisstake? Or a pisstake if the ridiculously overdone celeb caressing bump photos that have been in since Demi Moore did her so very artistic nude pregnant shots?

ScarletLady02 · 25/01/2013 09:16

I'm with Ninja....I didn't get the impression that they were taking the piss out of pregnant women....more the men with the bellys. I've seen the pic, it made me chuckle Blush

WorraLiberty · 25/01/2013 09:16

Well I laughed Grin

Most vulnerable? How so?

Being pregnant doesn't automatically cause a sense of humour failure.

fragola · 25/01/2013 09:17

It made me laugh. I don't think it's taking the piss out of pregnant women, it's taking the piss out of annoying celebs who do the I'm pregnant and great photos. And beer bellies. I especially liked the expectant expressions.

grovel · 25/01/2013 09:17

I don't think it's very funny but I'm not remotely offended by it.

nefertarii · 25/01/2013 09:18

Yabu. Pregnant women are not the ' most vulnerable'.

lurkedtoolong · 25/01/2013 09:18

I thought it was quite funny. And I thought the piss take was of the trend for arty pregnancy photography rather than of pregnant women

And is it just me or did the first guy look like Charlie Brooker?

AmberLeaf · 25/01/2013 09:19

Seriously?

MrsBucketxx · 25/01/2013 09:19

Its pretty funny,

Take a deep breath and get over yourself.

WandaDoff · 25/01/2013 09:20

I find it more offensive that you feel I was 'vulnerable' whilst pregnant. What do you mean by that!!?
The picture is funny too, love their faces.

verytellytubby · 25/01/2013 09:22

I think it's funny.

I didn't understand your vulnerable comment at all.

threesocksmorgan · 25/01/2013 09:23

[bconfused]

MikeOxardInTheSnow · 25/01/2013 09:23

Most vulnerable? How so?

In lots of ways! Emotionally, you have hormones all over the place. I know it doesn't affect everyone but I had SPD and had very limited mobility and was in a lot of pain. A trip or fall could be very serious when pregnant, when the same tumble would be nothing to a non-pg person...

Eh? Cake thread?

When I get stressed my belly swells up so I literally look 6 months pregnant, sometimes I caress the 'bump' - is that unacceptable too? The pregnant woman I work with (whose bump was smaller) didn't seem to mind, but maybe she was crying on the inside Hmm

RightUpMyRue · 25/01/2013 09:24

I think it's funny too and I'm currently in my 30th week of experiencing the physical and emotional difficulties of pregnancy Grin

You need to lighten up a bit Smile

merlottits · 25/01/2013 09:25

I have read your OP 3 times and you officially sound off your rocker.

Since when does pregnancy have to be deadly serious?
When have this section of society become a running joke?

Insensitivity? Ignorance?

This has got to be most pearl-clutchy post I have ever read on MN.
