He's always talking about shit or bums or gastric systems! I know he's a doctor, but seriously, the dude is obsessed. He needs therapy or something.

He talks about it on cbeebies all the time and he's on this 50 shocking health things program on channel 5 now and surprise surprise he's talking about shit again!

he's even got a poo song!

I was just shocked to discover he's an actual doctor. I thought he was an actor...

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 01/01/2013 22:24

With those eyebrows?!?

Badgersnatch · 01/01/2013 22:24

My five year old told me off for laughing like a donkey at the poo song. Apparently I'm very silly and poo isn't funny.

Convinced Nurse Morag is an impostor

jojane · 01/01/2013 22:39

Can't believe he's a real doctor!! Convinced he was an actor, after all what self respecting medical professional would sing those songs!!

supergreenuk · 01/01/2013 22:43

NO seriously? A doctor. Why oh why?? Hasn't he got anything better to do?? Hasn't that nurse got work to do either?? Catch that f.in ball.

FuckityFuckFuck · 01/01/2013 22:45

I refuse to believe he's a doctor, even though I know he is, same as I refuse to believe she is a real nurse, even though I know she is.

DS fell out of love with that programme when he watched one about injections with the usual 'you won't even notice it' bollocks. The phrase 'she hurtted me, Dr ranj said it wouldn't hurt but she hurtted me' was repeated for about 15 mintues Grin

CometAndCupid · 01/01/2013 22:56

Nurse Morag is definitely not a nurse. She used to be in River City (crap scottish soap)

I quite fancy Dr Ranj.

oldraver · 01/01/2013 22:57

I hate these preachy type of programmes...what happened to programmes purely for fun

DS loves it though

CometAndCupid · 01/01/2013 22:57

Oh no, I'm wrong Grin She IS a nurse!

Havingkitties · 01/01/2013 22:58

I like the guy, his eyebrows and his poopsicle songs. Grin
It's great that he's not stuffy and the kids won't be afraid of him. Wonder if he does encores at his proper day job?

polkadotsrock · 01/01/2013 22:58

She was in River City though wasn't she?

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 01/01/2013 23:02

the nurses fucking ball song makes me want to scream

Bearfrills · 01/01/2013 23:21

The whole bloody programme makes me want to scream. My 3yo is very literal and takes everything he sees/hears as gospel. He loves Dr Ranj but repeatedly tells me, usually loudly and in public, "Mammy, I've got worms/stuck poo/lice", etc. Hush DS, you haven't

It's turning him into a teeny hypochondriac!

ToffeePenny · 01/01/2013 23:43

Same here!

Returned home from work several nights running to be greeted with 'mummy, I need to be sick', 'my leg/foot/head hurts', or 'my poo won't come out' said with gravitas (and often while miming vomiting/limping/straining) from kiddo (age 2.8).

Had already booked the next-day GP appointment for the check up (stressing urgency of apparently near-death child) when a flick through iplayer for something to occupy him while I cooked revealed Dr Ranj.

Penny dropped.

Cue apologies to GP surgery for time wasting and mental fist-shaking at cbeebies.

Get Well Soon - a show on Cbeebies designed to encourage hypochondria in toddlers

There's a Dr Ranj on MN?

Bearfrills · 01/01/2013 23:59

Please let it be THE Dr Ranj so we can point out the obvious flaws in telling impressionable toddlers all about scabies

DrRanj · 02/01/2013 00:00

Oi! AngryGrin

ohchristmastree · 02/01/2013 00:02

I will not stand for anyone bad mouthing Dr Ranj! He is lovely and his even brows are glorious

ohchristmastree · 02/01/2013 00:02

His even brows? EYE brows

Yamyoid · 02/01/2013 00:11

Hahaha! He's never a real dr!

Same thing happened here, ds said 'I need to eat some vegetables to make my poo come out', my reaction was oh no must be constipated, two seconds later I remember he eats dried fruit like sweets and certainly doesn't have poo trouble! Although giving him reasons to eat veg is a positive.

Bearfrills · 02/01/2013 00:13

I'm not disputing that he's lovely or that his eyebrows are not like two glorious manes but my child is far too impressionable and now likes to tell people he has all manner of slightly minging ailments. He even follows his declarations of lice/scabies/constipation with a little rendition of the 'be happy, be healthy, and get well soon' soon (jazz hands and everything).

Bearfrills · 02/01/2013 00:14

*song

SirBoobAlot · 02/01/2013 00:16

I have a bit of a soft spot for Dr Ranj. Nurse Morag irritates the shit out of me though. "Ask the nurse!" - Okay, nurse, here's a question for you... Why are you teaching kids to throw food?!
