I got him about 6 bits that he wanted... but they were surprises.

He got me 1 DVD that I handed him in Asda. He didn't even wrap it up. Its onto of the wardrobe still.

I have about 4 times the cost of the tablet in the bank so it wouldn't drain us but we aren't money bags

But I feel a bit selfish spending on myself after Christmas and we agreed we would save on the new year for a car?!

I really want one but have a Samsung s3 phone....

DH has a laptop but I've already nearly broke it twice and would like something of my own.

But Mayne I'm just being greedy?

...actually I'm not sure I'll ever get any housework done again as mumsnetting is now so quick and easy, so from a productivity point of view maybe don't get one. :)

You should have a serious chat with your dh about your Xmas expectations though, 1 DVD is not a good gift!

I have a s3 phone and just treated myself to a samsung tab 2.

Currently Tesco have £60 off and samsung are doing £50 cashback so I figured a saving of that much justified the purchase.

So far im happy with it, the contents of my kindles on it too.

When my old laptop died I got a cheque for the amount. I could have bought a spangly new fridge which we do need (no urgency) but got an ipad instead. I love my ipad.

My Dh ran out of budget after spending a fortune on the kids! (ds got an iPad!)

He got me a book a DVD and a watch (one I'd been eyeing up for a while) and £100 cash! My parents came over and gave me some more money so my arse was out that door this morning first thing and I now have a shiny new iPad and boy do I LOVE it!!!!

I am watching this thread because I am this close to buying a Nexus 7. Especially now they are on sale at my local Sainsburys . But the feelings of guilt that I should spend the money on the kids instead.

Well I love my nexus 7, its the 32gb one and car phone warehouse had them at a good price. I got mine at john lewis as car phone were out of stock and I thought if I had any problems john Lewis would be better customer service wise.

I read lots of reviews and spoke to techy friends who all said the nexus was the one to go for.
