I keeled over for 3 hours - but I had been up since 4.45, for no good reason, as no one else got up till 9

maddening · 25/12/2012 23:02

I had a 2 hour nap with ds but have been ill today, df napped when we did.

Depends whether you had particular plans for today?

noisytoys · 25/12/2012 23:03

I had a 2 hour nap. I thought Christmas napping was normal

FrameyMcFrame · 25/12/2012 23:04

Yanbu that's antisocial

VisualiseAHorse · 25/12/2012 23:04

Depends, did he leave you to look after kids/cook diner/tidy/entertain guests etc?

Imadesantablush · 25/12/2012 23:06

a nap is fine but 4hrs? he got up at 9am so no early morning to blame. I just feel it's been a wasted night while he snored and rumbled!

OP posts:
WelshMaenad · 25/12/2012 23:07

Well, the option was there to wake him up you know.

SamSmalaidh · 25/12/2012 23:08

I slept for about 3 hours. Why didn't you wake him if you needed him up/had plans?

whois · 25/12/2012 23:08

I had about 5 mins sat upright on the sofa before having a walk and some water to rouse myself. If I'd gone to bed I could have slept for hours!

After a big meal and booze fighting the food coma is hard but it's a bit antisocial to kip for hours!

Imadesantablush · 25/12/2012 23:08

our kids are older and no guests, I just sat watching tv with dd but was bored. I do think I up the day more and always end up disappointed

MammaTJ · 25/12/2012 23:09

Got woken at 2.30 am, didn't get back to sleep until 5 am, up at 7.

Went to bed for a nap at 3pm and slept for 2 1/2 hours. I am now doing a night shift.

Imadesantablush · 25/12/2012 23:10

he is unwakable or if he does he is all dopey tired if I do

BOFingSanta · 25/12/2012 23:11

I had a little snooze for twenty minutes. Four hours is a bit excessive.

Purple2012 · 25/12/2012 23:13

I would have loved to have been able to sleep today. Was up very early this morning so going to bed soon and hope to have a very long lie in tomorrow.

Findingmyself · 25/12/2012 23:15

I'd be annoyed if my DH did that, especially if you have young children that need entertaining/looking after/putting to bed

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 25/12/2012 23:15

I had a 10 min power nap after xmas dinner, and got woken in time for Corrie (at my request)

Your partner is a pisstaker, right ? Did you do all the cooking/clearing up/entertaining of dc's etc while he snoozed ?

Or perhaps he is ill. Get him to see a doctor...it isn't normal to sleep Xmas Day away unless you have a diagnosed medical condition, are just back from a tour of Afghanistan or are a shift worker (can think of a couple more excuses, but doubt that he falls into any of them, tbh)

ebersneezer · 25/12/2012 23:18

I can't sleep during the day, even when being woken frequently during the night by a baby. My husband can sit down for a few mins then fall asleep, he manages to snore and talk at the same time! If there's something he needs to do I nudge him very hard.

BOFingSanta · 25/12/2012 23:21

Four hours is a whole night's sleep for me a lot of the time.

Northernlebkuchen · 25/12/2012 23:23

I had two and half hours in bed late this afternoon but I feel pretty ill - very chesty and like I'm getting the bug dd2 and dd3 had last week.

LetsFaceThePresentsTheyrePants · 25/12/2012 23:23

2 hrs blissful dribbling nap while the turkey cooked.Smile

CatPussRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 25/12/2012 23:24

I had an hour or two. Everyone esle was playing Monopoly. and I'd rather pull my teeth out with pliers. I am shattered from work, so I caught up on some ZZZs! I wasnt antisocial. The game went on for 4 hours!!

TeaDr1nker · 25/12/2012 23:28

It depends really, were you on your own looking after DC/cooking/entertaining etc. DP had 21/2 hours but we were at his folks so they looked after the DC whilst I relaxed (well, kind of). You could have woken him up no?

PiePoPiddlyPo · 25/12/2012 23:29

I had 15 mins after Christmas dinner. Anything over 1 hour isn't a nap in my book.

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 25/12/2012 23:31

4 hous is really a long time!
DH had about 2 hours and I had about 90 min. Not at the same time :)

Fedupnagging · 25/12/2012 23:34

I had an hour today and 2 yesterday - which is very rare for me so feeling bit pleased about that.

4hrs is a bit ott IMHO. Dh used to regularly nap for 3 hrs whilst I ran around after the dc's but I've managed to help him see the error of his ways! Xmas Grin
