To hate being told " no worries!"

I am getting increasingly irritated with casual familiarity from shop assistants/waiters etc. and before any one complains I've been in service industries for many years so am not saying I don't welcome friendliness...it's just disrespect I don't like..this includes being called " guys" when I'm with femal friend, being told its ok or " no worries" when I say I don't want a bag/ loyalty card etc..I know it's alright!!! I'm the bloody customer!! Being asked "are you sure" in response to previous reply etc.. But my biggest bug bear, instead of "can I Help you" which is lovely..is "Are you alright there?"..to that one I long to say "yes I'm fine here, but when I stand over there I go all funny"!

I don't mind 'guys' as long as its not accompanied by thumbs up gestures Smile

And epic and awesome is getting on my tits a bit, mainly due to the regularity my 11 year old daughter uses it, but I can't says I really get annoyed by any phrases, although the words moist and gusset make me shudder a bit

meMillyme · 24/12/2012 19:36

I'm going to go against the grain and say YADNBU . It drives me mad too.

WankinginaWinterWonderland · 24/12/2012 19:37

Oh dear, some people are being very nasty to op!!

Quit it, she is hormonal ffs!

Fakebook · 24/12/2012 19:39

Do people still say "no worries"? I remember saying that a lot when Neighbours was at its peak of popularity. It's so 1990's!

comedycentral · 24/12/2012 19:41

Feeling hormonal...why is this suddenly the MN excuse for everything?

This.

You've jumped in feet first, Primadonnagirl. May I suggest you look at some of the other areas and threads? People on here can be lovely. This section is usually used when you want people to tell you that you're being a tit though, so does tend to attract the more vocal vipers members.

OliviaPeaceOnMumsnet · 24/12/2012 19:47

Peace and love

LadyMaryChristmas · 24/12/2012 19:48

and gin? hic

ddubsgirl · 24/12/2012 19:48

Most shops etc you have to say 'can I help you' we get mystery shoppers and loss points if we don't and then get a bollocking for it so may piss u off but tough!

hopkinette · 24/12/2012 19:48

If OP managed to navigate her way to AIBU I'm sure she's fully aware of what this area is about and how it compares to others on the site.
