Anyone up?

So I went out on a work party. Had quite a lot to drink. Dh and I were staying in a hotel room. He was snoring away and I took a shower to remove my makeup. I stepped out of the shower, missed the mat and fell 14 stone on my wrist. Woke dh up screaming and his response? Stop being so melodramatic! Currently on my own in a&e minus contact lenses waiting for the results of my X-ray. Feeling very sorry for myself. Little bro on his way, dh snoring in hotel room. My fingers are tingling, in lots of pain, still drunk, upset with dh but I think it's not broken. Need good hand holding... Where do I go from here? Dd at my dsis's and in nursery in morning. Currently mad at dh. Typing with left hand... Anyone?

I got a taxi not ambulance. They have better things to do. Feeling so tired, in pain and upset

And the soft drinks machine not working and I don't like hot drinks

ah you poor thing. I broke my arm while really pissed a few months back, it was miserable. Was your DH drunk too? Not an excuse but you know how it is.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 02:59

Oh you poor thing -that's like something from a film. Is your husband usually so caring? I'm very sorry.

Feeding daughter by the way.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:01

Oh I forgot, of course.

Ahem

Leave the bastard

Grin
DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:01

He was drunk too. I think he thought I was just being pathetic. He didn't hear me fall but I thought my wailing would be a clue! He was there when I gave birth without drugs so he knows I'm not exactly wimpish! I feel let down by him, foolish that I slipped and annoyed I am alone Sad

DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:02

He's usually ok. I was waiting for the first "leave the bastard" Grin

I'm up! TBH I can't imagine my DH being sympathetic or even any use at all in this situation if he'd been drinking, so don't be hard on him! He's just pissed like you, and it's only a sprained wrist, you've not got a leg off.

My son has been cluster feeding since 6pm last night and is still on my boob so I'll be here all night no doubt Grin

OpheliasWeepingWillow · 14/12/2012 03:03

I would not be speaking to him for some days...

Hope your wrist is ok

MissCellania · 14/12/2012 03:03

yeah mine wasn't too sympathetic either, but I was drunk and wailing and snotty, and have slight drama queen tendencies, so he told me to stop moaning about my bruise and go to bed. Which I did, going to A&E the next day to have my arm x-rayed and set! He was a bit like this Blush when I came home. Grin

Ambivalence · 14/12/2012 03:04

Poor you. i broke my thumb at uni when pissed , didn't really hurt til i sobered up after a few hours so be careful with it.

Presumably DH also drunk and will be more supportive come morning.

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:04

Does he know you've gone to a &e alone? Sis he let you go alone or had he slipped into another coma by then?

Has your brother arrived yet? Poor thing.

DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:05

Really annoying thing is that I do 't have a key to my house! I was fully expecting to be going home with dh in the morning. I only took my purse as my lip gloss was in that bag!

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:06

Yay I win! Grin

DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:07

He knows I've gone to a&e alone. I'm sure it'll all come flooding back to him when he wakes up and I'm not there. Paid for breakfast too! Grrr

OP posts:
cafecito · 14/12/2012 03:08

ouch!

DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:08

Glad you're happy kitty Grin

Still waiting for bro. Just getting him back for 2am call he gave me a few months back when him and three of his mates were attacked. Not a great way to be woken up!

OP posts:
kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:12

God I would be livid and I don't think being drunk excuses it.

Could you go back to the hotel afterwards and hit him with your cast have your breakfast?

kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:14

Oh dear was your brother ok?

Good for him for coming out to you.

Will you stay at his after?

MoreFrontThanBrighton · 14/12/2012 03:14

Tbh would you want a pissed, unsympathetic dh sitting rolling his eyes/snoring/dribbling in A and E?
Is it busy there? How long until you get results of your X-ray?

Insomnia here, no babies, it's an utter bitch.

DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:25

It's very busy here. I suppose it's better than having dh here! Still waiting for bro. He lives miles away but currently in process of moving alchemists is staying with my parents at the moment. I guess I'll have to go back with him as I don't have a room key or a house key!

OP posts:
DeepPurple · 14/12/2012 03:27

No no no! My phone battery is low!!! Db better hurry up or I'll go out of my mind!

OP posts:
kittyandthegoldenfontanelles · 14/12/2012 03:27

Alchemists?

CoolaYuleA · 14/12/2012 03:30

I'd go back to the hotel, ask reception for another key or to let you in, and enjoy your paid for breakfast....

Then I'd milk the "you left me in a damaged heap you bastard!" for all it was worth.

And I am on my way to bed having stayed up three hours longer than planned on MN dammit!
