Husband doesn't want me to Go on facebook! Why I do not know. He says es always been 'proud' that we never went on it.

YABU for going on it behind his back. You are an independent person so can make the choice to go on a website if you wish to. But you should be adult enough to tell him.

FB is as harmless as you want it to be. When I hear all the tales of gloom and woe I wonder if I'm on the same FB as everyone else. If your 'friends' are sane, nice rational folk then there shouldn't be a problem.
