I have started a christmas job in a supermarket. Today the same man came through my till four times throughout the day making sleazy comments about "taking you to the bedroom" and telling me how pretty I am.

This man is old enough to be my father and clearly has ishoos. AIBU to raise it with my manager? It made me feel so awkward today and if I wasn't at work I would've told him to fuck off, i'm not a piece of meat.

He does this to all the young girls, some who are much younger than me. They find it horrible too but are too scared to speak.

Manager - if nothing else he's not actually buying anything is he? So wasting time you could be retailing.

Tell him your "old man" is a 6 foot 6 champion cage fighter and very protective of you Wink. He sounds like a total twat, don't engage with him, just give him the bare minumum of civility needed to do your job and then ignore his weird questions.

Pom - I really don't think coming back with funny retorts is sensible at all.

I think you need to tell your manager straight away and i would directly tell him that he is making you feel uncomfortable and would he kindly not talk in this way to you. A strong and formal reply is the best way to deal with him.

Hi Kundry- unfortunately he did buy things. Lotto, cigarettes and alcohol.

Please speak to your manager, you say he is like this with all the young girls at work. It is unacceptable behaviour from anyone customer or not.

I'm a retail manager, although in a different sector. I would hate for this to happen to my team & would want them to feel they could tell me. A little banter is one thing, creepiness & sleaziness are not acceptable whether it's a customer or colleague.
Do you have a team leader rather than going straight to management? Pop in to see hr & mention it,see what they suggest.
Congratulations on getting a job!

I had an oldish fella (who i used to serve and chat to) tell me he'd got himself a new girlfriend and she loved to have sex, he leaned over the counter to tell me he had a 9" cock. I was shocked and embarressed so sort of laughed but i told my managers who done nothing. I told dp about it and he was demanding I tell him who he was, dp was NOT happy! I wouldnt say only because i knew violence would be involved and didn't want dp arrested or in trouble. I still see the perv around the estate but i don't think he remembers me.

I'm suggesting a team leader as it may make it informal not because I think you shouldn't highlight it to the manager, team leaders are often the buffer between team & management.
