To hate Lidl.

Because thanks to them and their unbelivably tasty selection of Christmas treats such as the chocolate gingerbread and the marzipan mini stolen bites, I'm probably going to make Henry viii look like Barbie come January.

Their cake things and chocolate have always been divine but I made the fatal mistake of buying some stuff "just to try" and have now eaten most of it.

Too good.

I agree! Their cakes and chocs are just theeee best aren't they? And so much cheaper than other supermarkets!

I currently have their Deluxe Range Choc cake with choc swirls on top! Sooo good! Getting all dd's stocking chocs and sweets from there this year too. They are great and I know I'm not being ripped off.

I was going to ask how you could possibly hate Lidl when they make chocolate coated gingerbread :o

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2012 20:16

Oooh I like their huge chocolate button things covered in hundreds and thousands.

cozietoesie · 20/11/2012 20:17

Oh dash. I'm due to go to LIDL's tomorrow - it was just for some grapes.

squoosh · 20/11/2012 20:18

I love their Death Run of Doom, hot pastries on one side and gorgeous German chocolate on the other.

LauriesFairyonthetreeeatsCake · 20/11/2012 20:19

There is no Lidl near me which is lucky as I'm already the size of a small brick shithouse.

If there was one near me I'd blot out the sun as all that sounds very yummy.

ObiWan · 20/11/2012 20:21

I like their chocolate money, not just coins, but notes (for the stockings of course)! Grin

And the german Christmas cookies, Lebkuchen? Amazing.

They sell iodised salt too, for 27p of something daft. As opposed to £7 in Camden.

bigpantspam · 20/11/2012 20:25

Oh, I love the Christmas spiced biscuits coated with chocolate on one side. Yum. Also the caramel waffle biscuits, fresh pastries too.

I love the description squoosh, it's like an early morning challenge that first bit of the aisle! I fail.... a lot!

Their prosecco is nice too!

justaweeone · 20/11/2012 20:28

What is iodised salt
Have seen it loads but never bought it

Sparklingbrook · 20/11/2012 20:29

Anything nice in the 'square of treasure' at the moment?

ObiWan · 20/11/2012 20:33

iodised salt

Handy during my vegan phase Grin.

There is a lidl 100 yards from my house.

I've put on 3st since we moved here Blush

FannyBazaar · 20/11/2012 20:58

Indeed, I went to Austria for Christmas and was disappointed not to have stocked on Lidl CHristmas stuff before I went so I'd have some to scoff when I came back.

pulledmuscle · 20/11/2012 21:03

Ooh, ooh, ooh. I'm going tomorrow now, craving for those german ginger choc biscuits, used to have them as a toddler in germany.

cuttingpicassostoenails · 20/11/2012 21:05

Just two words.

Stollen bites.

blueraincoat · 20/11/2012 21:06

I read the title and was all ready to throw (nice, German) biscuits and shout YABU YABU!

But no!

The mini stollen bites! The fat polish smoked sausages! The cheap yet amazing quality chocolate! The newly installed bakery section! And the Square of Treasure!
