School inspection

My school has a local authority inspection coming up soon and I'm so anxious about it. I feel like ill do a bad job and let everyone down.

I feel like I'm better off going sick so that the school don't have me in for the inspection

Your last three or four posts have been about you maybe going off sick for one reason or another. You're clearly grasping about wildly for a reason to go off sick - just do it and get yourself better.

Honestly I dont think the classroom is where you should be at the moment

I agree you should go off sick anyway and get yourself better

You don't sound in the right frame of mind to be teaching at all, and the kids only get one shot at school.

cheeky with the greatest of respect, you could be given amazing advice on here but you'll ignore it all anyway

Ultimately if you're good enough to teach, you're good enough to be present during an inspection. You shouldn't do anything other than your usual lesson during an inspection anyway. Speak to your HOD. You might not even be seen by an inspector - DH has been in for 3 inspections yet has never actually had an inspector in his lesson.

Everything you say about work is negative.

If you say you're not doing a bad job then I can't argue with that, but I find it hard to imagine you're doing anywhere near as good a job as your colleagues who like/love their jobs.

You really don't sound well and nearly every time you post, you just reinforce the thought in my mind that you should have a career break and get yourself back on form.

I have to agree with Worra. It doesn't appear teaching is good for you which means at the moment your not going to be the best teacher you can be, or that the children need.

Can you not have a career change or do voluntary work or something similar?

Then apply for a job in a supermarket or somewhere

That way if you need to keep taking time off or you just can't face going in, you will only be inconveniencing your colleagues.

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but children deserve the very best education the school can provide - especially in the early years.

As a teacher you will know that and not want to let the children down by going off sick again to avoid the inspection.

Well again this will sound harsh but the kids can't afford to have a teacher who hates her job and intends to take even more time off sick just to avoid having her teaching inspected.

It's not all about you when you're a Primary school teacher I'm afraid.

I am sure she has said that before to Raspberry.

Your posts certainly dont come across as showing you to be well enough to be teaching. You need to remember you owe it to the children you teach to make sure they get the best education possible. Can you hand on heart say that is the case at the moment?

If it is the case that you're giving these kids the education they deserve, you'll be fine to be present during an inspection.

Have you been offered any counselling to help with the anxiety?
