Tickling

AIBU to think that if tickling a child you should check to make sure they want you to continue, not assume their shrieks are playful? I hated being over-tickled as a child and it freaks me out, DH think it's hilarious. Hmm

YANBU - DH tickles DS all the time, DS shrieks the place down, sometimes almost wets himself, I get really p*ed off! It's a man thing - 'LOOK! LOOK! Look how great I am, look how I can make this child laugh!' You're not hilarious, it's an involuntary reaction.

oooh. Bit ranty.

My DP holds my hands with one of his hands and tickles me with the other. no amount of shrieking no gets the point across

Oh god, I hated it as a child, and then being told you were ridiculous or making a fuss.

Horrible.

It's such a weird thing, you are laughing but you hate it! i have told ILs to stop tickling my DS before, but now he is old enough to say 'I don't like it'. I have memories of being tickled as a child by relatives and hating it/not being able to breathe/feeling like I was going to piss myself. And most troubling to me was a taxi driver who always tickled me and I hated it, felt like such an invasion of my privacy, yuck.

I really hate it. If you tickle me, I am not responsible for your injuries.
I don't tickle Ds, although he seems to like it when grandma tickles him. But he doesn't really get a chance to protest - she tickles him madly for ages. I can't watch, and it especially annoys me when I'm winding him down for bed then she starts? Angry

I didn't think so many people thought the same as me.

Should be banned!

I once held someone's arm behind their back and laid on them until they wouldn't tickle me any more. When they tickled me again, face down on the floor they went.

I was about ten. I absolutely hate being tickled, and they would not listen.
