To have just done something very, very bad?

I might have spent a small fortune on jumpers on our Next account (the one I only supposed to use for emergencies)

It is an emergency imo. It was so damn cold at work today. If we had a union they'd have close the place down. The door does not shut properly and blows open in the wind. The heating does not work properly. The window is old and rotten, single pane, with one bit broken, so it won't close. It is as cold inside as it is outside.

It is uncomfortable to work with my coat on.

I know it won't be until December when my boss finally brings the 'big' heater out. I can't take another winter in there last year. I can't. I'll cry.

So I've ordered jumpers, hoodies and thermal tops as an emergency.

and some christmas bedding for the dc but we won't talk about that

I should cancel it shouldn't I?

We can afford it, just not all at once. I'd have to buy it all bit by bit and be cold until December.

No, enjoy your new purchases!

squeakytoy · 24/09/2012 16:40

An emergency is buying a cheap warm jumper.. buying several is not an emergency.

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 16:42

Thank You, neighbourhoodwitch.

If you can afford them, fine. However, if you cannot afford them and are getting into debt, one or two would suffice!

thebeesnees79 · 24/09/2012 16:45

wait for them to come and see which ones you like. compromise half way, keep some send some back :)

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 16:51

I already did that bees, when I got to the check out page and realised I might have gone a bit too far. I put back two jumpers, a coat and some snow boots, since it doesn't really snow inside work I decided some bed socks from Tesco under my regular boots would suffice.

We can afford it, I just possibly didn't need all 6 of them. The coat (the one I kept) I need.

YANBU, this is what credit is for IMO!

Incidentally, Asda sells really good (and not excessively frumpy) thermal underwear.

mynewpassion · 24/09/2012 16:54

You are not the poster who overspent and husband gave her a gentle slap but overspent again and was afraid to tell him, are you? The one who used her young daughter name to get a credit card?

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 16:54

Oooh.

Do Asda do accounts?

I might pop down when my mum goes in her car. Asda is very far away and we have hurricanes i.e half an hour away and a it's a wee bit windy

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 16:56

No, mynewpassion, that wasn't me. I'm not quite that bad. The credit is in the dog's name Wink

don't feel bad if you have already put stuff out of your basket :)
Needs must!! I am of to Liverpool one tomorrow to buy my daughter some winter stuff and I don't have any money lol

Ithinkitsjustme · 24/09/2012 16:58

From the OP I thought this was going to be a bit pornographic in content! Grin

PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 17:09

Put bubble wrap over the window, and put a big velvet curtain (charity shop?) over the door.

cantspel · 24/09/2012 17:11

what is christmas bedding? Duvets with santa on, sheets you only use at christmas? I need to know before i can judge

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 17:11

I don't think my boss would be very happy if I started bubble wrapping the shop up Grin

I might try that in my bathroom though. We have a pointless air brick that freezes me half to death each winter.

Dooin in what environment do you work for it to be so cold?? Isn't there some employer obligation to provide adequete adaquet proper heating or something? YANBU

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 17:15

It's a duvet cover come advent calendar with matching christmas countdown pillows.

OP posts:
D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 17:17

There should be shouldn't there Shakey? My boss is not great at spending money but I love my job. I don't want to leave or be pushed out for making complaints. It's a small, family business, so no one higher up to complain to.

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 24/09/2012 17:17

Tape a strip around the edge then :o

And prime some local mners to come in as customers and complain about the cold!

CaptainKirksNipples · 24/09/2012 17:20

Not bad, but i dont ever find the the quality that good. I bought some of the lace sweaters for £20 thinking that was a good price. Then I saw the exact same one in primark for £8!

nothruroad · 24/09/2012 17:25

Please give us a link to the Christmas countdown duvert cover - I NEED one!

EdMcDunnough · 24/09/2012 17:27

Does a Christmas duvet cover mean I don't have to change the sheets all December?

YES

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 17:43

I'm on my phone. Back at work in the cold, so I can't link but they are in with the children's bedding.

They're very fun. Overpriced probably, but fun.

Narked · 24/09/2012 17:47

Jumpers are fine but christmas bedding Hmm

D0oinMeCleanin · 24/09/2012 17:55

In my defence we did discuss and agree on the bedding when the kids asked for it we didn't discuss how we were paying but we agreed on buying it
