AIBU?

To have just done something very, very bad?

I might have spent a small fortune on jumpers on our Next account (the one I only supposed to use for emergencies)

It is an emergency imo. It was so damn cold at work today. If we had a union they'd have close the place down. The door does not shut properly and blows open in the wind. The heating does not work properly. The window is old and rotten, single pane, with one bit broken, so it won't close. It is as cold inside as it is outside.

It is uncomfortable to work with my coat on.

I know it won't be until December when my boss finally brings the 'big' heater out. I can't take another winter in there last year. I can't. I'll cry.

So I've ordered jumpers, hoodies and thermal tops as an emergency.

and some christmas bedding for the dc but we won't talk about that

I should cancel it shouldn't I?

We can afford it, just not all at once. I'd have to buy it all bit by bit and be cold until December.

The bedding is a complete waste of money. The clothes you may keep.

I would send back the bedding (and accessories to go with it). You will use it for one month a year and your kids will outgrow the idea of Christmas bedding very quickly.

The warm clothing is important. It's horrible to be cold all day and so you need those things.

Giddy kipper!

Why not buy the underwear and some cheap fleeces from the supermarket?

Your boss is legally obliged to heat the premises to a minimum standard. Is there a thermometer fitted? If not I suggest you take advice from a union representative, or look up the rules and present them the boss.

I've just looked at the related products. How old do I have to get before I stop sniggering at 'Santa ('s) Sack?'

YABU - ordering from next if you can't afford it. As someone else said in an emergency then a few cheapies would have done the job.

YANBU- If it was your only option, like not having the cash to go out and buy them. Or you're spreading the payments. Definitely NBU for the thermal vests, there's nothing worse than frozen nips, I hate the cold weather for this, it hurts so much (sorry! useless, irrelevant personal info thereBlush)

P.S Get yourself to B&M bargains or Primark and pick up one of their fleece blankets, If my work was that cold I'd have one glued to me, unless of course it's not practical.
