I did once, embassingly, write a book. I showed it to a young DH, who, amongst much swirling told me it was just like x book. I must have just subliminally written what I'd once read. Or, she stole my thoughts from the inside of my head. Rather mire likely meringue.

SarahStratton · 25/09/2012 22:40

Take a sledgehammer with you. Do a proper job on it.

TuftyFinch · 25/09/2012 22:41

Add a bit of grafitti too, maybe 'thieving bastard' or some such.

Hullygully · 25/09/2012 22:41

What about just CUNT in red spray paint?

OP posts:
SarahStratton · 25/09/2012 22:43

I like the graffiti idea. Make it CUNTWEASEL and we'll all be happy.

Hullygully · 25/09/2012 22:44

Done

OP posts:
SarahStratton · 25/09/2012 22:47

Actually.

He wasn't a cuntweasel. Throw caution to the wind and spray 'arsebadger' on him. That'll learn him.

TuftyFinch · 25/09/2012 23:07

Or, you could cross out 'stars' and go with Sarah's suggestion.
Then it'd read 'We are all in the gutter but some of us are aresebadgers'. I bet Mr Issacs would beveeally pleased.

Dumbwaitress · 25/09/2012 23:22

sarah - cuntweasel, fucking love it, what a fantastic insult!!

SarahStratton · 25/09/2012 23:49

Genius Tufty, sheer genius. Grin

THETrills · 26/09/2012 00:11

Did you see the thread a week or so ago about "how do country people cope" with not being close to the shop when they want wine?

It oscillated between aww, lovely, country, wood-burning stoves and OMG get me out of here to somewhere that Dominos deliver.

THETrills · 26/09/2012 00:12

I would join your rival WI Hully, if I knew it was you running it.

SarahStratton · 26/09/2012 00:15

Maybe an actual live Mumsnet club, like the WI but for MNers would work? We could have far more interesting workshops than them.

QuickLookBusy · 26/09/2012 07:32

All this talk of the WI, I decided to have a look at our village group.

Here are some of the delights to tempt this year-

Crafts of the Inland WaterwaysConfused
A young boy's dream-Life on the Rails
The rise and fall of the 78
Summer supper, bingo and quiz

I don't think I could cope with the excitement of a quiz and bingo in the same evening.

Chandon · 26/09/2012 07:39

I went to the village pub quiz once, with some mates who are Oxford educated. I thought we'd have a good chance! We came last! But we got very drunk, had a laugh, and did the whole thing again a year later (when we came last again).

So much for an education, it's worth nothing if you don't know who wrote "a photo of Doreen gray". Poo

merrymouse · 26/09/2012 07:53

A bit confused by this thread.

Plenty of bits of countryside near busy market towns. Even bits of countryside close to big cities.

Also bits of countryside near train stations.

I realise that sometimes because of personal circumstances people can't live in these bits of countryside, but there are more places in Britain to live than Clapham/Brighton/Cold Comfort Farm.

janx · 26/09/2012 08:18

Move back to London Grin. I have always said to dp that if we moved out of Lindon a bit of me would die

janx · 26/09/2012 08:19

Lindon - where the hell is thatGrin

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/09/2012 08:23

Indeed, merry.

wrt WI; you should try and change it from the inside. Like what our union rep says (our union is beyond hope though, so I refuse to hand over my subs).

CoteDAzur · 26/09/2012 08:25

Hully - I thought a bit about your predicament, and my best advice is:

(1) Kindle (get lots of fantastic books, immediately)
and
(2) LSD (10 hours of solitary fun, staring at the sky & the mountains)

You could also consider growing marijuana, weather permitting.

CoteDAzur · 26/09/2012 08:28

susit - I don't even know where any of those places are, but DH did mention Surrey.

I. Don't. Think. So.

Poor Hully. There you were thinking you were doing the right thing...

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 26/09/2012 09:21

Surrey! That might be worse even than Kent.

CoteDAzur · 26/09/2012 09:22

It's never gonna happen.
