Go in then....tell me how an MP who represents a Govt falling over themselves to show their appreciation of police in the wake of this weeks events can justify staying in post.

Tell me why "Call me Dave" has not kicked his arse to kingdom come and told/advised him to resign.

Or is all the talk of "appreciation" for the police after this weeks horrific murders just lip service?

I detest this government but if every MP from every side who was arrogant had to resign we'd have about 10 left.

I agree sloe. Even given my bias as a Labour voter there is overwhelming contempt for anyone less than a millionaire on the Govt side - Lib Dem included.

But I've known some extremely arrogant Labour MPs too. It's what happens to people when they get amazing perks for just going through the right lobby. Most of them don't even have to stay sober to do that - that's what whips like Mitchell are for.

Yes I think he should go. Assuming what is reported was true - which I suspect it is if the policeman is willing to publicly confirm the wording.

I wish Yvette Cooper hadn't made that statement about showing the attitude of government towards public servants though. One man acting like a tosser does not indicate the opinions of the whole party. Yes, criticise their policies. Yes, criticise him. Save the stuff about 'government attitude' until Cameron hasn't forced him to resign - then the comment can actually find its mark. I want to like Labour, I really do, but they can't seem to land a punch correctly at the moment, and god knows they have been given a target.
