I eat them like an apple

D0oinMeCleanin · 20/09/2012 18:52

The same as you, aso do my DC, although for fruit salad I peel and slice it. They don't go mushy if you eat them straight away.

valiumredhead · 20/09/2012 18:52

I cut the top and bottom off and peel it using a teaspoon - can't describe it but it works!

Sparklingbrook · 20/09/2012 18:52

i eat them the same as you. Some weirdos people on her eat the skins. Sad

I think you can peel and slice them but I never have.

Sparklingbrook · 20/09/2012 18:52

on here

Nagoo · 20/09/2012 18:53

I eat it with a teaspoon like it is a boiled egg.

AGoldenOrange · 20/09/2012 18:54

Shock the skin is the best bit!

HellonHeels · 20/09/2012 18:54

I usually halve and scoop. Pretty sure I could do this from a young age but modern kiwifruit are quite large and maybe more difficult to manage.

No reason why you can't peel and cut them up, a sharp knife is all you'd need. They aren't very mushy unless really ripe or over ripe.

Fairyloo · 20/09/2012 18:54

I eat the skin! Thought that was what your meant to do!!

But spiky!!

BooBooChicken · 20/09/2012 18:55

I too cut off the top and bottom, peel length ways with a veg peeler and slice into rounds.

Sparklingbrook · 20/09/2012 18:55

I can't eat hairy things.

titan · 20/09/2012 18:56

Peel and slice for DS. if he sees me scooping his out with a spoon he wants to do it himself, fails and gets upset!

DeathMetalMum · 20/09/2012 18:57

Shock The skin feels so wrong in my mouth when I have mangaged by mistake for a tiny bit to be in contact with my tounge, it feels worse than sandpaper. Very weird.

They are the Devil's testes. You don't eat them, you throw them in the bin. < boak >

ATourchOfInsanity · 20/09/2012 21:04

Cut in half and use a teaspoon to cut around the outer edge (bit like a hard boiled egg)

GreenParcel · 20/09/2012 21:06

I just burst out laughing at devils testes!!!

handbagCrab · 20/09/2012 21:07

I cut off the top and eat like a boiled egg as well. How else would you eat one on its own?

SecretNutellaFix · 20/09/2012 21:07

Same as you, DMM.

I don't. I'm allergic. Sad I love them.

I used to chop off the top and use a spoon to scoop out the middle.

And then I'd get tingly lips and throat.

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 20/09/2012 21:10

It's sometimes hard to eat like an egg when it's not soft enough, so then I would peel and slice.

Is it just me, or do some of them feel like they've taken off the lining of your mouth when they are a little under ripe? I also get a swollen Tongue and itchy tonsils with them too....

Binfullofmaggotsonthe45 · 20/09/2012 21:11

X post hectate

Purplemonster · 20/09/2012 21:12

Yep, like a boiled egg, cut the very top off and eat with a spoon, I used to eat cadbury creme eggs like this too until they made them so fecking small you can't fit a spoon in them anymore Angry

Notcontent · 20/09/2012 21:13

I do what booboochicken does.
They are mushy if too ripe.

HecateHarshPants · 20/09/2012 21:17

Yeah. You're allergic. No more kiwi for you!

Can also mean you have a latex allergy, so you should mention it to your gp, particularly if you ever need an op.

I didn't know this until I was going for an op and they asked about allergies and I told them the antibiotic ones (erythromycin, ciprofloxacin...) and then I laughed and said "and kiwi, mayo, MSG and hairy catapillers..." and her ears pricked up and I had to be tested.
