Aarrrgghh

What is it about this total brain rot that my dd's are so addicted to?

They play outside loads and are sociable etc but every chance they get to sit in front of the tv this utter shite is turned on and it's like they get hypnotised by it.

It's utter shit!

I can't think of any other kids show I have ever watched in my life that gets this reaction from me!

Tv time is pretty limited to lazy weekend mornings and winding down time at night but as soon as they get the change this rubbish is on and once again they sit like zombies mouth wide opened and ignoring everything else going on around them.

Aibu to totally ban this one show (don't want to ban tv all together) or lighten up and realise young girls like this kind of stuff?

OP posts:
crazygracieuk · 27/08/2012 13:38

Yabu Jessie is the worst programme on tv-EVER. All the actors especially Zuri drive me mad. Angry

McFarts · 27/08/2012 13:41

why do so many think its ok the fucking swear in thread titles these days! I thought it was a no no? Hmm why not just say icarly is crap OP?

BenedictsCumberbitch · 27/08/2012 13:42

I can tolerate Jessie, especially as there seems to be some newer ones on now.

But it's no Wizards.

JuliaScurr · 27/08/2012 13:42

you've obv never seen Bratz

Mrsjay · 27/08/2012 13:46

I loved wizards of waverly place and was looking forward to the season finale Blush

BenedictsCumberbitch · 27/08/2012 14:30

I made DD record it for me. There was no way I was missing who got to be the family wizard.

workshy · 27/08/2012 14:36

the other problem is there seems to be so few episodes

I know some of them word for word well not really but it feels like it

the other thing that winds me up about i-carly and victorious is that the main characters are sooooooo skinny, my dd now thinks she is fat (which she clearly isn't) but I suppose that's what teenage girls on tv look like now (or 20yos pretending to be teenagers)

Mrsjay · 27/08/2012 15:20

There was no way I was missing who got to be the family wizard.

I remember dd1 was into sabrina the teenage witch and iw as crying at the series end when she went off with Harvey Blush

I dontt hink carly is skinny well ultra skinny anyway .

fridakahlo · 27/08/2012 15:32

I like icarly, would much rather dd was watching that than Strawberry Bloody Shortcake, at least icarly keeps the obssesion with styling to behind the scenes rather than making a whole bloody episode about beautyfying!
I am not watching, but it is sinking into my conciousness anyway!

Mrsjay · 27/08/2012 15:35

I am going to ask me and DD don't know why is there every race in the family are some of the children adopted that sounds awful I dont mean it to sound bad Blush

CouthyMow · 27/08/2012 15:52

It seems to be a dig at Brad and Angelina, if you have seen the first episode of Jessie. Which I have. About 1,000 times.

OwlLady · 27/08/2012 16:05

mine love it as well, i thought it was just them

it's the only quiet time i get though so i let them go with it

Flobbadobs · 27/08/2012 17:27

YADNBU. I banned iCarly. I can't stand the way they treat each other and other people. That Sam is character is awful. I actually let my DC watch it once just so we could talk about how not to treat others.

izzybobsmum · 28/08/2012 22:47

I'm ashamed to say I love Good Luck Charlie and sometimes when DD wants to turn over, I make her leave it on! I also seem to be relieving my teenage years through such Disney "classics" as Lemonade Mouth, Sixteen Wishes and Geek Charming, aarrgghh!!

Mrsjay · 28/08/2012 22:50

izzy i like GLC I think amy is funny with her pushy mummy ways, when she was doing a sing off at a songtime group it made me Grin

topknob · 28/08/2012 22:53

I love I-carly, Jessie & Wizards, they cheer me up in some small way !

topknob · 28/08/2012 22:54

OHH yes Good Luck Charlie is fab, new season coming up soon with the new baby :)

angelpinkcar · 28/08/2012 22:55

Sadie J, my DD sits and stares, I like Tracey Beaker, I always cry.

Mrsjay · 28/08/2012 22:57

I like Tracey Beaker, I always cry.

I live tracy beaker and it makes me cry the little girl in it is it Tee Blush she had me in floods a few times, and I remember a few years ago the BBC were doing a fostering season and tracey beaker was made into a longer episode she met her mum AGAIN floods ,

angelpinkcar · 28/08/2012 23:01

I know, I love the new ones where she is a care worker, it makes me want to go and work in a childrens home, then I think no it's not that nice bless them and they are very troubled children etc etc, another post may be but also love project parent, that makes me cry as well.

workshy · 28/08/2012 23:05

oh I hate project parent!

another program where kids are 'in charge' of their parents -grr
