Clarkes are so ugly, I don't want to put him in daft brand names or badly fitting shoes. Want some warm, comfy nice ones for Autumn that will go with anything i.e jeans and joggers.

Go find a nice boy and mug him?

OhYoubadbadkitten · 14/08/2012 22:16

Sports direct.

anditwasallyellow · 14/08/2012 22:17

I'd have to find a nice boy with nice trainers then though.

Hmmm I see your dilemma

I agree with Sports direct...they're good.

CaptainVonTrapp · 14/08/2012 22:20

Decathlon.

JumpingThroughHoops · 14/08/2012 22:20

I third Sports Direct.

BikeMedalsRunningMedals · 14/08/2012 22:20

Geox?

How old is he?

I am thinking of getting my soon-to-be-4 yo DS some walking shoes for autumn

accessorizequeen · 14/08/2012 22:22

What about hi-tops? Next & Boden have some I was eying off for autumn. Hopefully Boden will have a decent discount by then. Ds1 is 8.8 and currently sporting gold Clarks ones urgh.

MrsHarryPearce · 14/08/2012 22:23

mountain warehouse if you want non white type trainers. Or sports direct.

anditwasallyellow · 14/08/2012 22:23

He's 4, I know sorry probably daft question. Yes was thinking more what brand is good and comfy. I've only ever bought Clarkes but they really are horrible the styles are getting worse.

It was suggested by my doctor that converse give great support for little walkers.
We bought DS clarks shoes/pump and found he was tripping up over the big clumbsy fronts.
He walks/runs great in Converse. Office & USC do quite a variety £18-30.

accessorizequeen · 14/08/2012 22:24

Sports Direct are awful!, full of bright white monstrosities and unhelpful staff who can't measure feet. Never going again. Ever. Can you tell I had a bad experience last time? Grin

lalaloopylou · 14/08/2012 22:35

My ds loves his converse and when they get dirty you can put them in the washing machine and they come out like new!
My ds also has wide feet and I find Adidas trainers are a good fit, the insoles have a foot measure guide
If your after non brand then I'd say Next

Inneedofbrandy · 14/08/2012 22:38

I fourth sports direct, but go get his feet measured first, tbh you should be able to feel the width and his toes to make sure they fit properly anyway.

Inneedofbrandy · 14/08/2012 22:39

Yeah my DS has a H width lalaloopylou and adidas usually fit him.

whenever I type adidas i have to say all day I dream about sex to spell it 15 years later.

uselfullife · 14/08/2012 22:44

nike peanut

my son wore these for years
they don't seem to have any on the nike website, but you can search for them online

I'm really sad they don't do them in his size now he's older

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 14/08/2012 22:45

Those Boden hi tops are lovely! I hate Clarks shoes. Ds is only 18 months do feel duty bound to buy them.

Although if you've hear that about converse....

PicklesThePottyMouthedParrot · 14/08/2012 22:46

Oh and the little peanuts!

anditwasallyellow · 14/08/2012 22:54

Those geox look good pricey aren't they? In John Lewis they are £45

Montypig · 14/08/2012 22:56

Pediped - us brand on line - pricy but lovely

WorraLiberty · 14/08/2012 22:56

Sports Direct do a massive range of black trainers so they're not all brightly coloured.

They don't measure feet though so I always pop into a shoe shop first and use their foot measurer Blush

lalaloopylou · 14/08/2012 22:59

Inneedofbrandy that's exactly how I still spell it haha

uselfullife · 14/08/2012 23:00

if he's 4 , those peanut ones only go up to UK9.5
try javari website, they have some good reductions, and great service
I bought these when the nike ones didn't fit anymore

here

anditwasallyellow · 14/08/2012 23:02

I got a lovely pair from Next last year for DS age 6 last year (and I'm not usually a fan of Next) they were mostly navy with a stripe of two other colours but not as garish as some of their designs.

I've also picked up some DC's from TK Max... really nice design for about £17
