To buy a rampant rabbit?

Guilty08 · 02/08/2012 13:18

My DH has completely gone off sex, I don't know why but it would take ages to explain the change in our relationship.

Just because he doesn't want it anymore doesn't mean that i should suffer right?

So i have been looking at ann summers, £60 for a rabbit.

AIBU to buy one and keep it hidden?

DH says he doesn't want me "Pleasuring" myself but i have not lost my sex drive!

Honest opinions.

He doesn't want you pleasuring yourself yet won't 'pleasure' you himself

I'd def move the rabbit in and the husband out !!!

KellyElly · 02/08/2012 13:20

Get one. Everyone has one these days bit like a mobile phone Grin

foxinsocks · 02/08/2012 13:21

they are v noisy

put me right off tbh

ILiveInAPineapple · 02/08/2012 13:21

YABU for not having one already!

Get to the shops now! If he won't give you pleasure then why the hell should you suffer just because he fancies turning celibate!!!!

Fwiw I have an active sex life with my dh and I still use a rampant rabbit on top and sometimes we even use it together

larks35 · 02/08/2012 13:21

Several friends of mine have highly rated their rabbits. Out of interest though, why does your DH not want you to pleasure yourself when he isn't doing it for you? Bit out of order that.

2blessed · 02/08/2012 13:22

The rabbit is the way forward...!

Ariel24 · 02/08/2012 13:22

You should get one whatever they are lush! I have 3 Blush Grin

Margerykemp · 02/08/2012 13:22

It's quite worrying that your DP 'doesnt want you pleasuring yourself'.

Does he try to control you in other ways?

is the no sex part of this control?

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 13:23

Love Honey are also very good for toys.

And I would tell you dh to fuck the fuck off if he dared say anything.

I bet he has a wank!

mercury7 · 02/08/2012 13:23

Try love honey, there are much cheaper rabbit vibrators, i you want to spend that much I'd suggest a magic wand type of vibrator.

As for your DH, well I'd find it absurd if my partner thought he had any right to tell me not to pleasure myself, but it seems that some couples feel that mutual sex should be the only sexual outlet for both of them

fuzzpig · 02/08/2012 13:24

You can probably get a decent one for a lot less than £60.

I have only recently got to grips with mine, before that I honestly hadn't done that sort of thing (I have issues) but I feel better now that I can take control of that aspect of my life when I want to.

Have to say though if your DH is wanting to stop you, then you may have bigger problems than any rabbit could solve.

AngelWreakinHavoc · 02/08/2012 13:24

YANBU

I have 6 different rabbits and many other ehm toys

Go for it!

I use them on my own and with dp, if I wasnt getting any sexuals from him I would kick him out and give bugsy pride of place on dp's pillow Grin

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 13:24

I wouldn't keep it hidden either, I would fill the bedroom with the contents of ann summers until he got the message.

Just out of interest, what would he say if you told him not to pleasure himself?

Mrbojangles1 · 02/08/2012 13:25

Get one but it mAkes me laugh the amount of women who are fine with rabbits but if this were a man saying my wife wont have sex i want to watch porn and plesure myself everyone would be horrifed

thebody · 02/08/2012 13:25

Rabbit is bloody terrific, dh works away!!

Has your dh been to see the GP? This needs sorting.

AuntieMaggie · 02/08/2012 13:25

No get one anyway - you don't have to tell him when you're using it Wink

MaisyMooCow · 02/08/2012 13:27

Your husband isn't called 'Christian Grey' by any chance?

valiumredhead · 02/08/2012 13:28

£60???? I am sure mine was only £30 it's very old

AllYoursBabooshka · 02/08/2012 13:28

Try this site rather than Anne Summers, they have a bigger range of rabbit style vibrators.

Is he doing anything to resolve his lack of sex drive?

Either way he cannot just decide to take away your sexual pleasures full stop. I would be very clear about that if I were you.

BonkeySaysTeamGBAreTheMollocks · 02/08/2012 13:28

Arf @ Maisy

thebody · 02/08/2012 13:28

Mr Bogangles, I think if either partner 'goes off sex' it's very important to find the reason male or female.

My dh looks at porn, I do occasionally, doesn't bother me at all.

But I agree with you I think it would be a different reaction. Not sure why though? Maybe because porn is seen as demeaning women but a rabbit is a secret naughty and obviously not being exploited.

ILiveInAPineapple · 02/08/2012 13:29

MrBo - I don't think anyone has the right to dictate whether their partner can self pleasure or not!

AllYoursBabooshka · 02/08/2012 13:30

Mrbojangles1

I think you are a little mixed up.

I have never seen it said on MN that masturbation is wrong, especially when the other person is withholding sex.

I'm not sure how you comment is relevant to this thread.

Guilty08 · 02/08/2012 13:33

I have just ordered one, Thank you for persuading me Wink Even though i am scared now because i will have to tell DH!

The reason why he doesn't want me pleasuring myself is because he doesn't Bullshit and he finds it wrong for me to want to it without him, I have spoke too him since he didn't want sex and he just says "I would rather exercise".

I said it is completely natural too want to and to do it but he said that he would go mad if i brought one hense the nervousness!

Thank you for the support ladies!

Sounds like you want to initiate a fight OP and thrash things out rather than just pleasure yourself.

Sit him down and calmly explain you have ordered one ( if you have to explain at all) and do it before it arrives.
