I've been following the Olympics coverage obsessively closely and normally I'm a big fan of GL but it seems like he's really struggling with the presenting this time round. I don't know if it's the interviewees or GL himself but so much of the time in the studio seems quite cringey compared with Claire Balding et al at the Aquatic centre.

The interview he did yesterday with the gb eventing team was cringe some.

DH thinks he is much better on the Olympics. Perhaps because DH loves football and thinks Linekar talks rubbish on MOTD.

Having said that he just handled the breaking news of he bus/bike accident very well.

I think Ian Thorpe would have punched Lineke if he had to sit next to him today!

I'm no Lineker fan as I don't think he is a good presenter but to read stuff like that being written about your son must be very distressing.

With Stella she mentioned the little thing first. The best bit to come out of that interview for me was that she didnt design those horrible track suits for the Opening Ceremony. I was very relieved to hear it. Why on earth wouldnt they get her to do outfits for that? I bet I wasnt the only one who blamed her wrongly!

I think they should have more of Hazel Irvine- she is so chirpy and cheery and is used to multiple sporting events.

The bottom line is he doesn't have a personality. He likes the banter with all his aged cronies on MOTC but doesn't have the skill or knowledge required to interview people
