Having a Chinese is never BU - enjoy it!

candyflossisevil · 25/07/2012 20:42

Do it and enjoy!

OlympicAccreditationWearer · 25/07/2012 20:43

Not at all, in fact you should stuff your face as much as you can before the meeting! Enjoy!

I have just lost a similar amount after DC2, taking me to your target weight, and I feel so much better now! Good luck!

FaceForRadio · 25/07/2012 20:44

I would have Chicken Curry (no veg) Fried Rice & Chips! Every time :)

Go for it

catgirl1976 · 25/07/2012 20:48

YANBU

Have a biiig chinese - get it out of your system so to speak. Also - meeting night doesn't count, so give yourself 1 night off a week where you can have what you like (and make it meeting night as you have just been weighed)

Helps you stick to it IMO

SoleSource · 25/07/2012 20:51

Go for it. Enjoy.

Latara · 25/07/2012 21:38

Yummm go for it.

Ps. some takeaways / restaurants that do takeaways serve healthier Chinese food than others..
The last Chinese restaurant i went to didn't use MSG; used lots of fresh veg in each dish; served tasty lightly boiled veg; all stir fries contained minimal oil; & the crispy duck was tender meat with only a bit of 'crispy skin' & barely any fat.

It was all tasty & i actually left there feeling like i'd eaten a healthy meal; i reckon a dieter could easily have a decent meal there! So worth shopping around if possible. :)

WorraLiberty · 25/07/2012 21:41

Why are you saying goodbye to any kind of food?

As soon as you eventually say 'hello' to it again, you'll be like the majority of WW clients and need to go again and again....

Just have a little bit, now and again as part of a healthy diet with plenty exercise.

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 25/07/2012 21:48

I am currently waiting for dh to arrive with a curry. He's working late tonight so said he'd pick one up. He rang to say he was then leaving just after nine. He should be here any minute.

I bloody hope so, I am starving.

TiggyD · 25/07/2012 22:32

Ah! Thought you meant Chinese person. Was about to ask you where you were going to keep him. I won't now.

CaliforniaLeaving · 25/07/2012 22:51

I'm with Worra.
I didn't give up anything, I just eat less of it if it's high calorie and eat it less often. I still eat pizza a couple times a month and Chips are something I'll never give up, but those I've had twice this month too.
I've found eating healthier I'm losing a taste for some of the junk I used to like. Yesterday I had one bite of a hot dog in Costco and now don't ever want one of those again, it was so salty!

LottoQueen · 25/07/2012 22:59

No, don't have a Chinese.

Except for the curry, all the 'gravy' tastes the same - bloody minging; either very sugary or soy saucery

Have something with some decent flavour like a dhansak (nom Grin nom)

blueshoes · 25/07/2012 23:49

I gather you mean a 'Chinese takeaway', not a 'Chinese' ...

MrsJohnMurphy · 26/07/2012 00:25

Tbh Blueshoes I don't think anyone was in doubt about what she meant, hope you enjoyed it anyway.

WorraLiberty · 26/07/2012 00:30

I gather you mean a 'Chinese takeaway', not a 'Chinese' ...

Fucking hell, can people be any more pedantic?

mantlepiece · 26/07/2012 00:51

When you do WWatchers you find out what are the lowest point choices in any takeaway or restaurant you could mention!
This way you still have a social life and stay on plan.
Chinese takeaway - you order chicken chow mein
Indian - you order tandoori of any type
Italian - you order fish or pasta arrabiata
and so on!!!!

VegansTasteBetter · 26/07/2012 01:51

Both dc sleep in my bed room. If a burglar makes it upstairs I will bash him with a base ball bat and not stop until I'm reasonably sure he is dead. I will not stop while he is living to make a phone call to the police and hope he doesn't harm my kids. Sorry. Luckily the law is on my side where I live, not as luckily though the law allows for people to own and carry guns here which means I better be quick with my bat.

VegansTasteBetter · 26/07/2012 01:52

How the feck did that happen.

blueshoes · 26/07/2012 07:37

It is not pedantic.

It is ignorant, to put it mildly, to use the word "Chinese" interchangeably with "Chinese takeaway" as if that is all "Chinese" can be associated with.

catgirl1976 · 26/07/2012 07:47

No. It's really pedantic.

HTH

imnotmymum · 26/07/2012 07:51

I say chinese, or indian or mexican ... my ignorance must be off the chart !!

ken0eddie0kennedy · 26/07/2012 08:00

Pedantic. Give it a rest will ya !

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/07/2012 08:06

Chinese is a commonly accepted abbreviation of Chinese takeaway, and everyone knows it. If op wanted a Chinese man, presumably she'd have said so. Or a Chinese dress, or ornament, or whatever the fuck else could be Chinese. So, blueshoes, sto being such an irritating pedant, or just don't bother posting.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/07/2012 08:07

Ps: OP- did you have one?! Wink

catgirl1976 · 26/07/2012 08:11

I just asked DH what sort of tea he wanted.

"English" he said. The racist fucker.

I am leaving the bastard as I post.
