But is important to allow pedantry, it helps people feel clever and superior.

blueshoes · 26/07/2012 09:58

Laughable. Feel a bit sorry for you all to wallow in your ignorance and bigotry.

imnotmymum · 26/07/2012 10:01

Laughable. Feel a bit sorry for you for being so anal. People like you make racism worst not better.

ken0eddie0kennedy · 26/07/2012 11:09

Oh dear. Get a grip in what really matters in life, perhaps - Blueshoes?!

You are making yourself look a little nobbish, I'd give up.

solidgoldbrass · 26/07/2012 11:11

Hope you enjoyed your tea, OP. But Wiegh Watchers and the entire slimming industry is a massive con and won't do your health any good in the long run.

SoleSource · 26/07/2012 13:58

Chinese food is...whst is it then if not Chinese. Shoes are only ever just blue then? I think MN isn't the place for you.

WorraLiberty · 26/07/2012 14:02

It is ignorant, to put it mildly, to use the word "Chinese" interchangeably with "Chinese takeaway" as if that is all "Chinese" can be associated with

She's talking about Chinese takeaway food here so please stop being so weird blueshoes

thegreylady · 26/07/2012 14:06

I do WW and love meeting night as I have what I like. You have 49 'spare' points every week and I blow them all on Wednesday night :-)
I have lost 3 stones.

MorrisZapp · 26/07/2012 14:07

I fancy a full English.

Yum.

SerendipitousHarlot · 26/07/2012 14:14

And by that, do you mean an overweight Englishman, Morris? Hmm

catgirl1976 · 26/07/2012 14:19

I worked with someone who was so anti-racism he was actually a bit racist.

For example, he was nervous about using the word "black" in front of a black colleague, to describe things that were black. He'd cast about looking for a different word, all the time looking like a total tit and a bit of a rascist.

You are coming across a bit like that blueshoes.

YANBU

Let the condemned dieter eat a hearty meal!!

FWIW I used to do Scottish Slimmers, which was very similar to WW til they changed WW to pro plus points or whatever it is. I did try it but found it too complicated.

I lost 3 and 1/2 st on SS, I was very focused, as I was getting married. My fave was chips and curry sauce and I had that, more or less, EVERY wigh in night, after the weigh in obviously!

I still lost wieght steadily. I used to weigh out everything before I ate it, was like a full-time job. Hence I don't do it now. I'd weigh out the chips and count the sauce, so I was still withing my allowance.

I didn't give up the foods I loved, just ate a lot less of them, and savoured them e.g. 10 chocolate buttons = 50cals, you can make them last quite a while if you actually take your time with them, instead of wolfing down, as I normally do.

My best strategy was to stick to a very low allowance during the week by eating lots of salad, "free" soups, veg curries, pastaa sauces etc. I then had loads saved for the weekend, so I would happily have a pizza and a bottle of wine. (although I kind of switched to vodka, less calorific). My weigh-in was a Monday night, I ate nothing after lunch, not even a sip of water!

I also wore the same clothes, the lightest I could find (and yes, I weighed them too! cashmere and silk are the lightest, posh-me!)

I can't remember if you can do that with the pro plus scheme, or whatever they call it. But there will be lots of tips etc on their forums. I think if you deny yourself something, you will want it more.

"eat what you like, just stop when you are full", I think is one hypnotist's premise. All I need to do now is flick that switch in my head.....

Good luck
