He actually said them exact words to you? Shock

tartyflette · 19/07/2012 01:09

'waste of space' is definitely highly offensive. Not to mention unprofessional. YANBU. Report him.

SoleSource · 19/07/2012 01:10

Why? There MUST be a reason.......

ll31 · 19/07/2012 01:10

How do you know what teachers said? has teacher asked to meet you?

Tiredmumno1 · 19/07/2012 01:12

Not to you Blush I meant about you

beds · 19/07/2012 01:13

no in a report i read

OP posts:
happywithit · 19/07/2012 01:14

how this is start? how told you this? I think you need to be more clear.

tartyflette · 19/07/2012 01:16

I presume the report was not intended for you to see, but even so for him to commit thoughts and opinions like that to paper is extremely dodgy, and as I say, most unprofessional. I think you should be offered an explanation, and, I hope, an apology.

lisaro · 19/07/2012 01:17

I doubt very much a teacher would put 'waste of space' in a written report. Do carry on with this tale.....

tartyflette · 19/07/2012 01:20

certainly doesn't sound very official.

BonkeyMollocks · 19/07/2012 01:20

There's obviously more to this....spill op !

beds · 19/07/2012 01:21

not to me in a report

OP posts:
happywithit · 19/07/2012 01:23

this is an unprofessional teacher to write that. i think you have to report it. complain about it.why she put unsympathtic if she doesnt know you? and waste of space. i dont think she knows the meaning of this words before using them.

tartyflette · 19/07/2012 01:25

Would this be a report about your child to a third party, i.e. not the school?

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 19/07/2012 01:34

If you need feedback instantly, it really does pay to give enough information for people to help you!

ilovesooty · 19/07/2012 02:44

Like lisaro I'm not sure that this can be right.

How did you get hold of this report?

Dominodonkey · 19/07/2012 02:49

I am sure his opinion is based on something (even if he is mistaken) In my teaching career I have used words such as this and worse (to other colleagues) to describe parents on very few occasions.
One was a parent who entirely refused to accept her child's behaviour was a problem and blamed it on his teachers despite the fact that no teacher could manage him. Another was for a parent who said she could not meet staff at the hospital where her 11 year old was being treated for a badly broken arm as "she had a meeting and it was during school hours so wasn't her problem."

Instead of trying to get this teacher in trouble think about why you may have been labelled in this way.

Dominodonkey · 19/07/2012 02:52

I also find it highly unlikely that 'waste of space' was written in a formal report.

storminabuttercup · 19/07/2012 03:01

Was this an end of year report op? Is he the head of year?

Or are you a parent?

It's very late

Secret7 · 19/07/2012 03:12

You're giving very little information as to what the report is about. Yes it is unprofessional to make remarks like this but WHY is he saying these things.

Are you avoiding telling us something.

MammaTJ · 19/07/2012 04:36

So, you have a DC in this childs class? They teacher has never met you?

They have written a report to the childs next teacher explaining they should not expect you to help or even appear in the following year?

Am I right?

MammaTJ · 19/07/2012 04:36

That should read You have a DC in the teachers class

Bubbaluv · 19/07/2012 04:54

Why is someone who's never met you writing a report about you?

MammaTJ · 19/07/2012 05:15

Bubbaluv in the absence of further information, I am asuming the OP is a parent, the teacher has been teaching their child and never met them. The report is for the next teacher as of September. I may be wrong though.
