to want people to stop hijacking threads

I can see how it happens but if someone has asked a specific question, surely it is polite to answer it before going off in a completely different direction. And if the other topics are so interesting then start a new thread. Sorry for rant, but seen so many op's ignored when they are asking for advice.

OP

The hijack is valid in this case as you didn't ask a specific question.

I prefer to call hijacks conversations. And generally, when people do it, they apologise to the OP, as I have done.

MrsVamos · 27/06/2012 16:54

MrsRB

Cream first, always. And always strawberry jam.

FuckerSnailInYourHedgerow · 27/06/2012 16:59

Hi Vamos! Wheeere have you beeen!

That type of thing? Grin
yes, it is rude and best kept to pms, but then people wouldn't be giving you attention and see how fabulous you are, which is the point of derailing threads, is it not?

Mrsjay · 27/06/2012 17:02

not really hijacking is it when conversation takes a turn people usually say oh off topic or sorry op and then continue chatting cos thats all this really is a chat forum ,

MrsVamos · 27/06/2012 17:05

I beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen around ! You just haven't looked properly !

It's strawberry jam. No bits. Same as marmalade. No worms.

usualsuspect · 27/06/2012 17:14

I've never seen a sensitive thread derailed

SusanneLinder · 27/06/2012 17:18

I hate pork chops.........just saying.

ObiWan · 27/06/2012 17:20

Ha!

No worms in the marmalade, when we were small we'd ask for marmalade with no 'lives'. No idea where it came from..

crystaldash · 27/06/2012 17:22

I saw one in FWR and it just made me a bit sad. And please dont say marmalade in my presence-its like swearing-evil stuff!

Education is awful for a few people having a private spat.
And there was a perfectly reasonable OP pulled up for spelling and then people were totally childish.

These aren't quick asides , but unpleasant and unnecessary behaviour.

Derklugehans · 27/06/2012 17:22

Biscuit I prefer Hobnobs.

Derklugehans · 27/06/2012 17:23

But then again chocolate digestives are nice.

crystaldash · 27/06/2012 17:24
