...that when I ask for three lots of five sausages, these come from the meat/deli counter rather than prepacked?

I am a bit housebound at the moment and people keep asking me if they can do shopping for me.
Well, as one friend came over who lives near Waitrose I asked her to bring me three lots of five of their best sausages at £2.69 per kg.
She came back with a 1lb pack of their economy sausages and said that she had looked everywhere for five in a pack.
AIBU to not have told her they came from the deli counter?

you should have told her 'from the deli counter' i would have just looked in the packets too

YABU. I would never think of sausages from the deli counter unless specifically requested.

Yes. But. Waitrose economy are probably still of superior standard to Other Brands deli counter.

If you want to control your sausage order I suggest an internet shop.

Yabu! You asked for sausages, she got you sausages, surely it doesn't really matter how many are in each pack really. If you wanted them from the deli you obviously should have said so! You sound like a really ungrateful sod, I wouldn't be in a hurry to do you any more favours if I was your friend.

If someone complained to me that I had got the wrong thing when they havnt given clear instructions I would just not bother to offer again

You're probably just frustrated at being Ill and having to except help - just go with the flow a little more - people are helping be grateful you have people to care for you and don't get bogged down with the small stuff.

What a bizzare thread. You do sound utterly ungrateful and unrealistic to boot. Its a shame you aren't in control at the mo but people are trying to help, to moan about it is really shitty

YABU, but i think that it is rare to find someone who can shop for you and get everything right.

3 lots of 5 sausages would say to me 3 packs from the 'fridge not from the deli counter.

So how about just being grateful that you have friends that are willing to help you?

this is one of those threads that needs a whole heap of backstory to make sense of it. it is not about sausages really is it? sausages were the final straw in a haystack of straws.
