...that when I ask for three lots of five sausages, these come from the meat/deli counter rather than prepacked?

I am a bit housebound at the moment and people keep asking me if they can do shopping for me.
Well, as one friend came over who lives near Waitrose I asked her to bring me three lots of five of their best sausages at £2.69 per kg.
She came back with a 1lb pack of their economy sausages and said that she had looked everywhere for five in a pack.
AIBU to not have told her they came from the deli counter?

It is so hard to get the right staff these days.

GnocchiNineDoors · 23/06/2012 11:56

I love Waitrise economy sausages so yabu.

SoleSource · 23/06/2012 13:35

If I was the shopper I would have asked - Deli or fridge? But that's moi :)

MammaTJ · 23/06/2012 13:39

Tell us the rest of the list please. You need to appease us by feeding our shopping list addiction.

ginghamfish · 23/06/2012 13:45

I agree with Tee2072, just be grateful someone is helping you and stop being so precious about sausages. If you know the exact sausages you want and you can't get out to get them and fear the arrival of non deli sausages then shop on line. Tis not rocket science.

planetpotty · 23/06/2012 15:05

I still want to know what the 15! Sausages were for Grin

wildfig · 23/06/2012 15:08

YABU and putting in a very slightly Agatha Christie type order, with your 'best sausages my good man' (matter of opinion too - I think the best ones are those Lincolnshire ones in the packets).

HecateAdonaea · 23/06/2012 15:09

Yeah, you are a bit Grin

If I was shopping for someone, unless they specified the deli counter, I wouldn't get sausages from there.

Like cheese, unless they said cheddar from the cheese counter - I'd get the prepackaged stuff.

i think if you do want deli counter stuff, you do have to say so.

PurplePidjin · 23/06/2012 16:44

Just repackage them into 5s using clingfilm or freezer bags. I used to freeze sausages in pairs when i lived alone so they kept.

I assume this is either 2 each for two adults plus 1 for a toddler, or 3 for the person with the larger appetite and 2 for the person with the smaller appetite.

Oma, unfortunately when other people are doing you a favour you have to suck it up when they act stupid don't do it your way

JoannaFight · 23/06/2012 16:49

Blimey that'd have stumped me. I'd have bought a pack too. That's a very specific way of buying sausages Confused

YABABU, but as you are housebound I can understand you do find it frustrating and don't want to feel like you are being a burden by adding all the little extra notes.

Thingiebob · 23/06/2012 17:30

You should have made this clear.

Yabu

Bubbless · 23/06/2012 17:30

i personally didnt know you could buy sausages on the deli counter (however i shop in morrisons?!)

LucieMay · 23/06/2012 17:44

GnomeDePlume · 23/06/2012 17:59

U bent onredelijk. Sorry Oma!

scuzy · 23/06/2012 18:01

was house bound and feeling ill. do asked if i wanted anyting from shop. i said big sports bottle of volvic water (needed to drink lots to recover). he brought some bpm isotonic raspbery flavour shit. wtf????

Dprince · 23/06/2012 18:22

Ffs. Is this a stealth boast about Waitrose? Or a reverse thread because you sound really silly.
You asked for sausages, you got sausages. I would have looked at the deli counter. As an aside did your friends say if there any men standing like a t-rex (or any dinosaur) or perhaps a mole? Or is that an asda thing?

Dprince · 23/06/2012 18:23

I wouldn't have looked at the deli counter.

TheMonster · 23/06/2012 18:26

You can get sausages on the deli counter? Shock

Empusa · 23/06/2012 18:32

This sounds like my MIL, we offered to do her shopping for her when she was ill once, when we brought the shopping back to her she said, "I didn't want that sweetcorn, I wanted the other sweetcorn". She hadn't told us she was bothered by which particular sweetcorn though. Confused

StuntGirl · 23/06/2012 18:38

YABU, I wouldn't have got it from the deli either unless you'd specified.
