To be pissed off at my ENORMOUS thighs? (lighthearted whinge)

I am sick of having "big" thighs. I am the only person in the world it seems who has chunky large thighs that stay chunky and large and cellulitey even when I am thin.

I look around all the other lovely ladies and even if they are larger than me above the bum, they have much slimmer thighs.

I just want to have delicate, smooth, slender limbs not chunky sturdy ones. AIBU? Can you give me any positives to my chunky nature?

shifts own very large thighs in sympathy and watches thread with great interest

RobinSparkles · 15/06/2012 09:41

I bet Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez don't whinge. :)

We all have parts of our bodies that we hate, sadly. I hate my nose and I wished that I had thicker hair. I wish I could chop the saggy skin on my tummy, from having children, off. And I'd like to be a bit taller then I could eat more.

HSMM · 15/06/2012 09:41

I hate it when I try on jeans and they get stuck at my thighs. Sorry ... no help at all!

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 09:43

Oh you are helping ladies - if only to let me know I am not alone!

When I buy jeans they are too big on the waist to accommodate said thighs then fall down giving me nappy bum!

If only I was so stunning as JLo and Beyonce! Kim Kardashian's a bit fit too!

I'm the same as you. cockwomble Doesn't seem to matter how much weight I lose, or how much running/cycling I've ever done, my lardy white thighs are always there, spreading...

But no, I can't give you any positives, I can only share in your misery! Grin

ohchristFENTON · 15/06/2012 09:46

In my 20's I slimmed down to a ridiculous 7 stone and my thighs were still on the thunderous side.

Now in my 40's and a couple of stone or more heavier I have grown to love and accept them these days though Smile

squeakytoy · 15/06/2012 09:47

you cant actually change everything that nature intended... well, you can, but it is rather expensive Grin

lots of walking will tone you up, but if you are built that way, there aint a lot you can do about it.. :)

TheRealMrsHannigan · 15/06/2012 09:48

I am the exact same, even at my very lightest of 8 stone 4lbs, I have generous thighs and bum. Good job my DH likes the J-Lo, Kim K etc shape!

I am the opposite, but also cannot get jeans to fit.

People with good legs tend to have nasty fat bellies like me. Mine is tiger striped and apparently made of crepe paper, also, saggy. I am WELL sexy.

I get saggy bum on the jeans because I have a size 8 arse but a size 12 waist.

scentednappyhag · 15/06/2012 09:52

I have enormous thighs and a comedy sized bottom, always have, always will. Luckily, I'm amazing in every other way so it's not too bad

Wink
Mrsjay · 15/06/2012 09:52

"comedy sized bottom" Grin

bronze · 15/06/2012 09:53

Am wide of hip though not large of by and have corresponding wide thighs
I too have the trousers wide enough are too big for my waist problem

Cockwomble · 15/06/2012 09:55

thebody · 15/06/2012 10:00

Fucki I phone,, every other woman hates her body as well . and I bet those thighs arnt half as big as you think!!

Mrsjay · 15/06/2012 10:01

the thing is i have passed on the bum to my DDs sorry girls Blush

InMySpareTime · 15/06/2012 10:03

I have the same problem, I wear a belt with jeans to cinch in the waistband, but there is so much spare fabric it looks like a potato sack.
I should really get on board with 1950s dresses to accentuate my nice waist and boobs, but my expansive thighs give me sweaty inner thigh chafe, and I abhor spanx!
DH likes my wrestlers thighs anyway, that's what matters. It's all the cycling and walking I do, what exercise would burn calories without building even more thigh muscle? Mine are huge but solid.

Mrsjay · 15/06/2012 10:05

a few years ago jeans seemed to change shape and they are lower cut I like them higher so they were lower and skinnier I havnt been able to find a comfy pair of jeans for 5 years ,

paddingtonbear1 · 15/06/2012 10:05

I'm the same as you OP. I do a lot of cycling so they're not flabby, but they're just.. large! Getting trousers to fit can be a nightmare. The older I get, the less bothered I am, though.

JodieHarshHasALumpyPennie · 15/06/2012 10:10

Oh no no no no no. You are not alone. My thighs bestride the world like a colossus. They are mighty. They are in girth as to the cedars of Lebanon. They are immense. Vast. WEIGHTY.

I cannot wear trousers because they transfix passers by. I mean it! I once wore them to work and my boss became entirely distracted and stared at their immensity and splendour and HUGENESS.

Doesn't matter how much weight I lose or gain, there they are, each capable of sustaining a marching army for days at a time.

I have given up hating them. Let us remember Dylan Thomas, and the wistful line, "Let me shipwreck in your thighs."

HipHopOpotomus · 15/06/2012 10:10

Hate your thighs, hate yourself.
It's pointless. Absolutely pointless.

I command you to LOVE those thighs and embrace them daily!!

Check out S&B thread for how to dress wobbly thighs so the world doesn't know tips. But seriously no one but you actually cares about your thighs. May as well love them as hate them - the knock on effect is potentially awesome (if you can love those thighs you can love everything about yourself).

:)

HauntedLittleLunatic · 15/06/2012 10:12

mrsjay have you tried dream jeans from Bhs? They say they make you look like you have lost a dress size and I definitley think they are more flattering than many. The waist is very high tho and I still need a belt although less so than other brands/styles.

For those that have large thighs and are larger Evans jeans for pear shapes look pretty good...they are exceedingly generous on the sizing tho and although I am normally a good 16 their smallest ones were still miles too big.

YouGoonie · 15/06/2012 10:15

I'm the same. Even when I was younger and thinner
It's the same with my giant arms though. Maybe I should take up wrestling.

Mrsjay · 15/06/2012 10:16

OH i will look in BHS i prefer a higher waist thanks Smile
