Her 'd'h has left her, six months after their wedding. Apparently he said things haven't been right for a while. So why did he marry her then? The cynic in me thinks it's because he'll get a better financial settlement, having been married.

But that's not what is really pissing me off. I have just read the fucking sexist comments on the aol page from people saying things along the line that she was on the telly more than she was in their house, and that what with all her jobs, he didn't know what his job was. AIBU to think that when a man's marriage fails, no one says it's because he went to work and blames him for earning a living in order to support his family.

Don't know why I'm so riled by this, or so surprised that some people think this way. Has being on MN made me live in an artificial bubble - do lots of people in rl really think this about successful women?

I know she isn't the most popular person, but even so, this is rough imo.

You are right op. Any man would be applauded for working hard and looking after his family if the situation were reversed. A man is much more likely to be criticised for not working enough rather than working too much.

Her dh is shagging someone else. I would put money on it

me too forehead.

I mean he is on tour with bands and what goes on tour stays on tour and he moved into a brand new purchased flat 5 days after leaving? It took us two months just to get our conveyancing sorted- 5 days??? I smell a (love) rat.

Apologies if anyone else has already said this, but I read a news article [cough] Daily Mail [cough], that said there was no pre-nup.
