To wonder why Kate doesn't wear Diana's jewellry

Am I the only one wondering why Kate often goes with minimal or no jewellry when Camilla is dripping with them, and wondering what happened to all Diana's lovely jewels and why they haven't been handed down to Kate.
Is it because it has all gone to Camilla or is it because it all went to the butler, or is it because Kate/William doesn't like wearing jewellry?

I wear my dead grandmother's jewellery
and when I can afford to I'll get some of it rebuilt.

If Diana left a Will with her jewellery mentioned in it, she would not have left anything to Catherine Middleton because she didn't know she existed!

But she WILL have left it to her sons for them to do with it as they wished - which includes allowing their wives to wear it.

When we went to the tower of London we saw some of the jewellery that is part of the queens stuff that she can lend out if she wants to. There was a massive union flag ring, with diamonds, sapphires and rubys - proper posh bling. If I were Kate I'd be begging Granny in law to let me wear it for the jubilee.

Well I think the Queen ought to give Kate some nice jewellry for her very own and especially on the jubilee and I think Charles ought to too. I 's like to see them looking after Kate. Not just as a photo op to make them look good but properly giving her stuff.

I'm on Kate's side because she was born a commoner.

I suppose its difficult for the queen because she has so many granddaughters and granddaughters-in-law. I suppose she has to treat them all fairly.

The really expensive stuff that is worth wearing for a real show is probably all held by the Queen. Diana probably wore some of that, I very much doubt everything she wore belonged to her personally. She was such a fashion icon at the time that she probably had the big designers loaning her stuff constantly.

Even if it was all Diana's and some of it is now William and Harry's, why on earth she would wear it? I can think of many many reasons why she wouldn't. And isn't the engagement ring enough anyway?

Maybe Kate just doesn't want to go about looking like a Christmas Tree. Maybe she thinks in these times of austerity for all it is inappropriate to go around dripping in jewellery.

She's going to be Queen one day. All the State owned jewellery will be theirs/hers then (and probably a fair amount of the privately owned). It would be pretty poor taste if she looked as if she was in a hurry on get her mitts on it.

She won't outshine the Queen during the Jubilee celebrations. And although HMQ wears that amazing rope of huge (real, wild) pearls nearly all the time, plus a brooch, she wears very little at other times (except the big set piece State occasions). Actually, I can't think of any Royals (including the late PoWess) who wear/wore much.

She doesn't go to State stuff so she doesn't wear the jewels of State.

But mostly I think it's because if she turned up to open a hospital wing in one of Di's old necklaces the Fail and creepy Di acolytes would froth themselves into a frenzy...

I think Camilla wears more than Kate because of her age.

Younger people tend to wear nowhere near as much jewellry as older women

In fact I think it's quite ageing

My dad proposed to my mum quangos mums ring. Guess the difference is both couples stayed happily married

I always assumed that the royal jewels were a bit like in the princess diaries. In a vault and the bits are loaned out for state occasions if required. Catherine is around my age and I wouldn't want to wear lots of heavy jewels even if I had the chance (except maybe to dress up in everything in a childish way or maybe wear naked at home)

Because Diana's 80's look is incredibly dated at the moment and it wouldn't be appropriate. We don't know the story behind the ring - it might have been Diana's wish for William to have it and it might have meant something very different to her than the public story.

The poor woman is already stuck with that horrible trashy engagement ring give her a break. Most of Dianas stuff looks so dated now she probably doesnt want to.
