Has my dad been to sainsbury's again .... ;)

D0oinMeCleanin · 27/05/2012 12:14

Being a small child is an excuse, so YABU. However there is no excuse for an adult doing this.

LadySybildeChocolate · 27/05/2012 12:15

But they rub your feet! (don't wear sandles but most of my shoes rub my feet unless I wear something with them Sad)

tartyflette · 27/05/2012 12:17

It's sandals, btw. Sometimes you see male models wearing them together in the fashion pages of the Sunday supplements as an 'ironic' statement. Doesn't make it right.

McHappyPants2012 · 27/05/2012 12:17

never wear sandles as they rub my feet and get a few tiny blisters but put socks with the dc sandles

bronze · 27/05/2012 12:17

Yes there is. My dad lives somewhere where it is hotter than here so likes I wear sandals. He's had an infection on his foot that can get worse if exposed so he wears socks to help keep all the bandaging on. He is also a very nice man who doesn't care about appearance

ChippingInNeedsCoffee · 27/05/2012 12:20

Bronze's Dad aside Grin there is no excuse!!

MissMogwi · 27/05/2012 12:21

I think dads of a more mature age are allowed tbh.

That's my dads uniform come summer time, along with his shorts and t-shirt with a chest pocket for his fags. Job done.

tethersend · 27/05/2012 12:22

I wear opaque tights and sandals

boredandrestless · 27/05/2012 12:25

YANBU

I include children in my ruling. Sandals shouldn't dig in and rub with or without socks.

thebody · 27/05/2012 12:26

Judgy pants op, much more objectionable are fat men with tops off.

takingiteasy · 27/05/2012 12:27

Missmogwi are we sisters?

2shoes · 27/05/2012 12:29

yabu
I do it with dd, she gets hot but if I just put her in sandals the foot straps on her seating system, will rip her feet to bits.
some times there are good reasons,

Magneto · 27/05/2012 12:31

I wish I had the gall to wear socks with sandals. 2 days of flip flops, strappy sandals and canvas wedges have left my feet covered in blisters. So today to give my poor feet a rest, I put my trainers on, without socks, and received another bloody blister on the back of my heel.

I never have this problem with my winter boots.

BalloonSlayer · 27/05/2012 12:36

In Australia, businessmen of a certain age wear a short-sleeved shirt, a tie, a pair of shorts in suit-trousery material, knee length socks and ordinary business shoes.

I nearly rubbed my eyes like a cartoon character the first time I saw one.

(They also sometimes have lavish moustaches like Lord Kitchener.)

scuzy · 27/05/2012 12:55

i agree some kids (more so with girls) can get away with it (must be white socks). but if your getting blisters your sandals are wrong. but i hate sandals with socks, even ds (3) has a pair of sandals and with socks looks ridiculous.

i know, i'm anal! lol

scuzy · 27/05/2012 12:55

BUT in saying that trainers WITHOUT socks is euch. your feet will stink!!

TheUnMember · 27/05/2012 12:57

I wear socks and sandals all the time. It's more comfortable. But I'm an aspie, I'm allowed to dress weird, it's in my DNA.

scuzy · 27/05/2012 12:58

TheUnMember you get a get out of fashion jail free card so Wink

YANBU

There is no excuse for any adult on this earth to wear socks and sandals Grin

My dentist (female) wears socks and crocs Shock

Still, it disturbed me more than the fact she was doing my root canal so that was a distraction I suppose...

pumpkinsweetie · 27/05/2012 12:59

Wish i could get away with it without being laughed at Grin as its much more comfortable to keep your socks on

RuleBritannia · 27/05/2012 12:59

I can't wear socks with my sandals. Each has a strap between the big toe and the next one.

TheUnMember · 27/05/2012 12:59

Excellent, because if you saw how I was dressed today, you'd have nightmares :o

scuzy · 27/05/2012 13:02
