Our light summer breeze was actually quite fierce.

oshuk · 26/05/2012 20:49

oh, how awful, was just looking at the Brighton news, and found this

warning - tragic

BoboksAndCot · 26/05/2012 20:50

I'll tell you what does look awful, blue ice cream Shock

hackmum · 26/05/2012 20:52

The DM always uses pics of Brighton for its "Phew, what a scorcher" stories. Anyway, I agree, the beach on Brighton is ghastly, though Brighton as a whole is fab.

LynetteScavo · 26/05/2012 20:52

The nude bike ride isn't my cup of tea.

I swear, they print the exact same picture every time we have a heatwave.

maddening · 26/05/2012 20:54

are you referring to the nude bike ride?

BertieBotts · 26/05/2012 20:57

Good ol' Dave is as eloquent as ever Hmm

(Regarding hayfever)

"There?s obviously one or two plants that, when they flower, hit me and so, just this morning, I woke up and I had it."

Empusa · 26/05/2012 20:57

That bit of Brighton beach is always horrible when it gets hot. Much nicer further along in either direction.

BertieBotts · 26/05/2012 20:58

Grin No, maddening. Just the packed beach ones.

Brightspark1 · 26/05/2012 20:58

Worthing- quieter Mr Whippys are cheaper too

youarekidding · 26/05/2012 21:31

The naked bike ride was near me!! I was in my town on the sandy beach though. But there are plenty of pictures on my FB homepage by friends who it passed. Apparently Pompey has never had such a view Grin

muminthecity · 26/05/2012 22:51

I love Brighton but decided not to go today as we knew it'd be heaving so we went a bit further out, to Littlehampton instead. Proper beach and not nearly as packed as Brighton.

MadamFolly · 26/05/2012 23:08

Haha, stealth Daily Fail link foiled by my tea and kittens blocker. Life is good!

MyCarHasBrokenDownAgain · 27/05/2012 07:40

If you go to Newhaven (East of Brighton), and know the right places, you can actually find a sandy beach! It's not packed either ...

KenNEddieKennedy · 27/05/2012 07:47

Brighton is fab, best seaside atmosphere ever.

Aberavon? Fuck me, that brings back childhood memories

AngryFeet · 27/05/2012 08:11

I like Brighton but never go in the summer unless I am travelling by train and am childfree. Too busy and the traffic is crazy as is the parking. Eastbourne is way quieter and has better stuff for kids IMO. Newhaven seemed nasty to me but I may have missed the nice beaches. Worthing is also nice although the smell of seaweed is seriously strong!
