pregnancy test photos on FB

well, I most ABU and ready to accept it but couldn't help posting here in hope that I might find some people who share my view on the subject.
I find them utterly disgusting, I actually feel the smell of wee inside my nostrils when I look at them. Why, oh why do you have to announce a pg with a photo of the particular test you peed on? There must be a cuter way...

(i did one, but only put it up for an hour - i had a bet with myself)

Psammead · 23/05/2012 16:45

YABU.

Debeezandbirds · 23/05/2012 16:47

YABU. Happy day in someones life, if you don't like overshare FB is not for you. Try Google + :o No fucker on there to offend anyone :o

eurochick · 23/05/2012 16:53

Almost every picture on facebook will be of someone who has recently weed. There is a fair chance that any nappy wearing child pictured on facebook will be sitting in its own wee.

You probably need to get over yourself.

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 23/05/2012 16:57

I find it a bit gross too.

ZonkedOut · 23/05/2012 16:58

I think it a bit odd to share the news that you're pregnant that early and that indiscriminately. A FB acquaintance of mine did it recently, then a few weeks later, posted about her miscarriage. Maybe some people are happy about sharing that sort of thing, but I wouldn't be!

IAmNotACowbag · 23/05/2012 16:59

I congratulate, then mentally roll my eyes and prepare for the barrage of scan photos and that updater mabob that tells you how many weeks they are. Then hide them when it gets annoying and unhide when they are due.

twilight3 · 23/05/2012 16:59

nickel I'm glad you only left it for one hour. Deb, my Google+ is full of people...

I feel so lonely that no one until now finds photos of pee sticks odd.
Children in nappies walk down the street or play in the playground. People who have recently weed are everywhere around us. Still I have yet to meet anyone in RL who would walk up to me and show me her pee stick "look, I'm pregnant".. Surely no need. Why is it ok to share it on fb? It's a piece of plastic with wee on, it's not like the first ultrasound or something...

I'll stick with it until a soul mate appears and says "I understand"

twilight3 · 23/05/2012 17:04

you are on MN every day?

OP posts:
usualsuspect · 23/05/2012 17:06

Most days

TeaJunky · 23/05/2012 17:10
Hmm

Did it bother you so much that you had to post on mumsnet about it?

I think you need to get over yourself too.

Givememorecheese · 23/05/2012 17:41

So scan pics are fine? You do realise that the bladder is usually visible in those pics don't you? and that you're asked to make sure your bladder's full when you go for a scan?

I fail to see how you can be offended by a picture of a bit of plastic with a trace of wee on, but not by a picture of a whole bladder full of piss.

YAB oversensitive

My only concern with people sharing pics of their test (not that I've ever come across anyone who has) would be that they might come to regret going public so early. Still, each to their own.

Moominsarescary · 23/05/2012 17:44

I've kept 3 of the 4 peed on sticks for my sons baby books so there
