You discuss.

LowFlyingBirds · 20/05/2012 13:03

Dont be fucking ridiculous!

The measures for this are watching jeremy kyle, matthew wright, this morning and loose women. Fact.

PrematurelyAirconditioned · 20/05/2012 13:05

Definitely.

Tee2072 · 20/05/2012 13:05

If certain people worried less about what class they or others are, Britain would run the world just like they used to.

catgirl1976 · 20/05/2012 13:09

Depends if you watch it on a massive 3d plasma or an old black and white set with fuzzy recpetion doesn't it?

catgirl1976 · 20/05/2012 13:09

Ridiculous.

The class system is nuanced, complicated, contains regional variations and is primarily organised on considerably more complex factors than what an individual watches on television.

If social mobility was based on such purile, easily changed factors people would be changing class every hour. One day you wake up with an ancient aritocratic title with memories of your public school experiences, you decide against going to work in your own estates offices as you are a feeling a bit peaky, walk into the television room (rare, you normally sit in the morning room in may), turn on the television and watch a repeat of britains got talent. BOOM you are working class, your surroundings vanish and much in the manner of a computer game you rematerialise in a council flat in a different part of the country.

I enjoyed that illustration, which probably speaks volumes about my own class, and I'm sure you are just looking for a fight, but I couldn't resist...

misdee · 20/05/2012 13:15

What about The Voice? Is that above bgt and trash-factor?

Sarcalogos · 20/05/2012 13:16

No.

catgirl1976 · 20/05/2012 13:16

:) loving the vision conjured up by sarcalogos

Sarcalogos · 20/05/2012 13:17

Damn. Misdee is funnier than me in just one sentence. Must try harder.

NameChangeaGoGo · 20/05/2012 13:17

The 'discuss' makes you look like you think you're a teacher setting us all an essay, and therefore is bound to get people's backs up.

McHappyPants2012 · 20/05/2012 13:18

I am working class and I don't watch them, I like watching the real ER and Bones how it's made and top gear

IAmBooybilee · 20/05/2012 13:18

christ almighty. why the fuck do people get so obsessed with 'classing' themselves and making sure they aren't one or the other?

NO watching BGT makes you someone who watches BGT. AND THAT IS IT!

are you really that insecure about your place in society that you will change your viewing habits according to what someone else deems appropriate for you to watch?

misdee · 20/05/2012 13:18

Why thank you. But you made me laugh :)

MadameMessy · 20/05/2012 13:26

Since the queen is going to be watching the product of bgt at that concert, I seriously doubt it. Is she working class?

thefurryone · 20/05/2012 13:33

According to my mum watching anything on itv makes you common Grin

toofattorun · 20/05/2012 13:34

What a fucking stupid topic. I hate all these discussions about class. It's irrelevant these days what class you are. You probably think you're middle-class, when, in fact, you are mistaken.

Debeez · 20/05/2012 13:38

I've never watched them.

Dafuq with all the class posts recently?

Hmm
IKilledIgglePiggle · 20/05/2012 14:06

Boring

thebody · 20/05/2012 14:28

I watch any old crap on tv and I is dead posh me.

Kitchentiles · 20/05/2012 14:42

Admitting you watch them makes you working class. Middle class people watch them secretly and pretend they don't.

Lueji · 20/05/2012 15:09

MadameMesy
Isn't the Queen considered quite bourgeois by the true uppers?
