I was just on facebook and a frien posted a video that has been asked to passed around to make awareness and basically to be disgraced at how short of a sentence the person involved got!!!

It was my own fault it said "if you are easily upset don't watch" but stupidly I did!!

A poor baby about 18 months maybe younger, was been hit, kicked, punched but whom I can assume is her mother and somebody recording it!!! I stopped watching after 5 seconds but asked what happens in the end I.E did somebody stop it?

I feel sick and so upset that someone could do that to a baby and the poor thing was sobbing!!! And apparently she got 18 months!!

I suppose you hear about things like this but never have te "mental" image!!

So so sad and upset :(

YANBU. Tbh I don't think posting a video like that is the best way to raise awareness....

thisisyesterday · 10/05/2012 19:40

horrid isn't it. i clicked on it too and wished i hadn't.

the woman got a prison sentence apparently

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 19:40

No I agree! Just horrendous and something that will always stay with me!! Having a dd that age myself it has really knocked me!!

What kind of person videos a person beating a baby and doesn't step in and stop it? and what kind of person posts it on facebook?

They are as bad as the person actually doing the beating imvho.

Yanbu though, I hate it when you get stuff stuck in your head like that :(

picnicbasketcase · 10/05/2012 19:47

I know it's no use now, you can't un-see something Sad but don't click on videos unless you have some idea what's in it, especially if it says it might be usetting. Someone on my FB posted a video of someone getting horribly injured in an accident, you couldn't tell what it was until you watched it. God knows why they posted it, apparently they found it really funny. I couldn't get it out of my head for ages.

StealthPolarBear · 10/05/2012 19:48

I guess the mother could have done it herself

MarvellousYou · 10/05/2012 19:49

I haven't seen it but there's been a few things on the news and on Facebook that have made me feel physically sick today. The horror of what people are capable of Sad

Pandemoniaa · 10/05/2012 19:49

There's some truly awful stuff on Facebook - quite a lot of it leads to dodgy sites too. I refuse to click on any of these videos and pictures.

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 19:51

The person who was doing this to the baby ad the person filming it was foreign a very rough guess I would say Thai ladies!! It sounded like the lady "filming" was shouting at her .. But apparently ne'er once tried to stop her and carried on filming!!

I will never watch anything on there again!!

I think the person was sharing the video as requested from someone else, to make awareness and I think try and get the sentence longer!! I'm not sure as I only watched few seconds.

i heard about this on FB too but didn't watch. apparently the footage has been removed now. i dont think that's any way to raise awareness at all. what sort of moster videos that and doesn't stop it happening. (I HAVEN'T SEEN WHAT HAPPENS SO MAYBE THEY DID)

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 19:54

I asked and in the video know or stopped her, also they said there was older children watching too!! It was on what looked like a mattress and people around them!!

Just turns my stomach and I want to go get my baby out of bed and cuddle her!!

OP posts:
IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:02

oh god i just found it. it hasn't been removed. i watched it with the sound down. had to turn it off after 1 minute. so horrific. clearly something very very wrong with that woman. that poor poor child. why the fuck werepeople standing round watching? i dont get that at all. i could tell the child was crying even with sound down. why were they not stopping her? that poor poor child. just why?

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:08

Just awful isn't it?! I had the sound up and the poor baby was screaming!! I was told the poor baby stopped crying after a while but she carried on!!

I could honestly just sit here and cry .. I have never been affected by "shocking" things before!!

OP posts:
IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:16

i wonder if the baby went into shock and that's why teh crying stopped? it was so strange. she was doing it and then watching the baby as if she was waiting for something? a reaction? even though teh baby was very obviously reacting. at one point she did that thing with her hands that people do when frustrated, palms facing upwards but fingers curled ISWIM. it was clear she was very frustrated and not getting whatever it was she wanted out of hurting the baby. it did say on the liveleaks website that the baby was a result of rape so perhaps she was taking her anger out on the baby but that was just disgusting. i cant fathom why no-one stopped her. there were people there!!

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:21

Is this a case in the British legal system? I feel sick just reading your description

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:22

I can't understand myself either!! It's frightening to think this kind of thing happens!!

I'm worry so much at best of times but I just freak out at any thought of anyone hurting my kids, I just want to keep them bubble wrapped stuck to me till there 30!!!

The only "good" thing to come out of it is the baby is now in care!!

Is there anything said on how she was caught?!

OP posts:
kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:22

Did the baby survive?

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:24

Yes kitty, thankfully .. The woman got 18 months!! And the baby put in care!

OP posts:
IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:24

it's in malaysia i think and the liveleaks website said the baby was still recovering yesterday when the video was posted Sad

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:25

it really was sickening to watch kitty. how she just sat there and kept doing it. i cant imagine how that poor baby felt.

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:26

Phew. 18 months though? Not enough.

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:26

You just want to grab the baby out of there!!

OP posts:
Olympia2012 · 10/05/2012 20:28

That's not the first time that baby has been subjected to that..... The onlookers looked like they were used to it.

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:28

No kitty not at all, I think that's the reason of it being posted!! I can see why and completely agree this needs to be addressed, not so sure it's the right way?

But saying that it has made me think about it that's for sure! So maybe shock tactic is the only way!!
