I was just on facebook and a frien posted a video that has been asked to passed around to make awareness and basically to be disgraced at how short of a sentence the person involved got!!!

It was my own fault it said "if you are easily upset don't watch" but stupidly I did!!

A poor baby about 18 months maybe younger, was been hit, kicked, punched but whom I can assume is her mother and somebody recording it!!! I stopped watching after 5 seconds but asked what happens in the end I.E did somebody stop it?

I feel sick and so upset that someone could do that to a baby and the poor thing was sobbing!!! And apparently she got 18 months!!

I suppose you hear about things like this but never have te "mental" image!!

So so sad and upset :(

DS2(15) saw it on Twitter last night. He told me it was really, really distressing and not to click on it, so I am actively trying to avoid it!

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:31

yes i agree, i'd say it was filmed because it is a regular thing and maybe teh video was sent to police? i dont know but i would be very surprised that it was a one off unless the woman is a really scary person who no-one would dare argue with.

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:32

I'm so glad I don't have those images in my head. I know exactly what you mean. They are replayed on a loop and churn the pit of your stomach. I beggars belief how someone could do this and also shame on those stood watching and filming. It happening all over I'm afraid. It could keep you awake at night if you were to dwell on it.

TheHouseOnTheCorner · 10/05/2012 20:32

Yanbu...I have seen some awful things and they DO fade...of course they might pop bck up again but you will feel better tmorrow. Try to visulise that baby in a happy, nice and safe situation whenever you get a memory of what you saw...imagine the sight of her being hurt is screwed up like a ball of paper and thrown away and then see her tucked up safe in someones arms, asleep and smiling...or see her happy at a party...I use this technique when I have bad memories.

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:33

i have the horrible feeling that the baby was this woman's punchbag and people just accepted that that was how she treated him/her.

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:33

olimpia :( I dread to think!!!

land I have been so distressed about it, will play on my mind for a long time!! If you can avoid do so!! Very distressing!

i hope she can never remember any of it and has no long term effects. i really do. if i could wish to unsee it i would rather wish to undo it so that the baby never had to feel it.

CupOfBrownJoy · 10/05/2012 20:35

why the fuck would someone post that video on the internet?? And why would someone put it on their facebook profile? Confused

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:39

House on the corner- what a brilliant technique. Thank you for sharing it.

goodmum123 · 10/05/2012 20:39

Ive not seen the footage, i never want to but im sat here feeling physically sick for that baby. How can anyone even think of doing such a thing and how do we put a stop to it? Makes me want to go to Malaysia and adopt him/her. Sob :-(

rainydaysarebad · 10/05/2012 20:41

I cant find it, but I don't want to search extensively for it. Sounds horrible,

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 20:41

kitty it was from a book but I can't remember who wrote it! A famous hypnotist...it works for me and I find that if the memory won't go when I screw it up like paper, then I imagine it shrinking into a tiny speck which is then catapulted into outerspace where it combusts into nothing. Grin I have also "rubbed things out" with a big eraser and burned them up in a firegrate.

I'm always bloody using this technique as I came across some awful things in a past job which haunt me sometimes.

ddubsgirl · 10/05/2012 20:43

the woman was arrested and the baby was result of rape :( not that makes it right

kittyandthefontanelles · 10/05/2012 20:46

I'm so glad this works for you. Brain bruises can be difficult to live with. I'll definitely try it.

SandStorm · 10/05/2012 20:48

First thing I saw on FB this morning was this, from the NSPCC:

We are receiving lots of messages from you today about a very distressing video of a woman beating a baby that is circulating online. Thank you for getting in touch.

If you receive this link please report it to Youtube (or whichever site is hosting it) and to Facebook if it has been posted there. You can also report it, and any other online content, that depicts child abuse to the Internet Watch Foundation.

If you have any concerns about a child in the UK or just need advice on issues about child welfare you can call NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.

Thank you.

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:49

i use the "rub it out with a big eraser" thing for images i want to forget. it does work but you have to stop summoning up the image in the first place. hard as that may be as it means forgtting that the baby suffered. although i try to tell myself that it wont help the baby one little bit for you (or me) to replay the imagery in our heads. so it doesn't do any good to anyone by doing so. you have seen it and acknowledged it so you can let it go. Smile

IAmBooyhoo · 10/05/2012 20:50

thank you sandstorm i will report the video on liveleaks.

wantstosleepnow · 10/05/2012 20:56

Fucking hell!!! This thread is graphic enough. Why, of you have been effected by watching it, and wished you hadn't, would you post the details about it on here so now I have a horrible mental image.

Why?

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 21:02

wantstosleepnow sorry you are having horrible images!

i think maybe ask MNHQ to put a warning in the thread title so people know it contains sensitive material.

lattelov3r · 10/05/2012 21:07

I havnt seen the video and will be avoiding it like the plauge if its appears but i did earlier click on a link on fb saying 'babysitter caught on cam', which showed a little baby maybe 8 months or so being kicked over and things thrown at it, i have a 7 month old myself and now feel physically sick :(

xkatyx · 10/05/2012 21:08

Thank you iambooyhoo

I should of put something to begin with, I apologise to everyone who has stumbled on here.
