as a treat on saturdays we get a dvd, a pizza (frozen) and cupcakes from our local supervalu. the cupcakes come in a pack of 4. until recently each one had a chocolate swirl on top of the icing. the bun making people have now (i'm sure due to austerity measres Wink) have decided to put chocolate swirls on just 2 of the four cupcakes. there are 3 of us. i'm not impressed. we have tried splitting the swirls in two but they are too fragile and crumble and apparently as i'm an adult Hmm i should let the dcs have the buns with the swirls and i should be happy with a swirlless cupcake. needless to say i am not happy with this arrangement. i have considered purchasing 3 packs of cupcakes which would allow each of us to have two buns each with a swirl on top but i begrudge giving the bun manking people any more of my money than necessary (the one pack a week is necessary Grin). boycotting isn't an option (see point about buns being necessary). what do i do? this cant go on. i am having swirlly withdrawal symtoms and i fear i might go on a cupcake stealing spree in supervalu.

any advice much appreciated TIA

Grin

Who eats the 4th cupcake, that is the question...

Sirzy · 28/04/2012 17:52

4 cupcakes, 3 people simple solution whoever has the ones without swirls has 2!

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 17:53

well that has been the arrangement thus far but i really need a swirly fix and teh chidlren wont be persuaded by a second bun to give theirs up. they are very selfish.

Wait until they are at school on Monday and get another box and have all 4!

hathorkicksass · 28/04/2012 17:55

You need a picture. With the sad eyes and downtrodden look in the DM "mother of children forced to go without chocolate swirls to satisfy penny pinching big business bosses"

WorraLiberty · 28/04/2012 17:55

On a different note, I bought a tray of 12 full sized chocolate iced ring donuts from Morrissons today for just £2 Shock

They're normally about £1 for 3

Alargeglassofred · 28/04/2012 17:56

Buy a tube of swirly stuff and apply your own bigger and better swirl?

Doogle2 · 28/04/2012 17:56

Defo complain but in the meantime get a bar of dairy milk as a way of compensation that you only have sponge Wink

ChippingInLovesEasterEggs · 28/04/2012 17:56

Can you buy a bag of something swirl like to share - clearly the non swirl bun person getting more??

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 17:57

i dont care what they're called, i just want them all to have swirls on.

sirzy i like it, but it means paying more money to the stingey people.

Grin@ hathor. the sad eyes have been a permanent fixture since this happened.

What sort of swirly stuff is it?

Would the chocolate swirly stuff you get for ice cream (is it called Treat?) be acceptable to swirl on top of your buncake?

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:00

to clarify, this isn't the swirly icing, they all still have that (although they have changed th etaste of that too but i can cope) this is a little swirl like they have scraped the top of a chocolate bar and the 'shred' has swirled, like when butter sometimes does?

YANBU

Only fair thing is that no-one gets a swirl.

Or, as my old Gran always said "One cuts, the other chooses." Don''t know how that works with three though.

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:00

it sits on top if the icing.

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:02

of the icing. see how this has affected me??

You need counselling Boo and you could bill Supervalu for it.

You've obviously been deeply affected.

Or, Sunshine, take all the swirls off and eat them yourself

Grin
SunshineOutdoors · 28/04/2012 18:11

Yes! That's it! Pretend they've stopped all the swirls completely and actually eat them all yourself! Genius hathorkicksass

EdlessAllenPoe · 28/04/2012 18:11
