as a treat on saturdays we get a dvd, a pizza (frozen) and cupcakes from our local supervalu. the cupcakes come in a pack of 4. until recently each one had a chocolate swirl on top of the icing. the bun making people have now (i'm sure due to austerity measres Wink) have decided to put chocolate swirls on just 2 of the four cupcakes. there are 3 of us. i'm not impressed. we have tried splitting the swirls in two but they are too fragile and crumble and apparently as i'm an adult Hmm i should let the dcs have the buns with the swirls and i should be happy with a swirlless cupcake. needless to say i am not happy with this arrangement. i have considered purchasing 3 packs of cupcakes which would allow each of us to have two buns each with a swirl on top but i begrudge giving the bun manking people any more of my money than necessary (the one pack a week is necessary Grin). boycotting isn't an option (see point about buns being necessary). what do i do? this cant go on. i am having swirlly withdrawal symtoms and i fear i might go on a cupcake stealing spree in supervalu.

any advice much appreciated TIA

Grin

Blush i do eat the forth cupcake. i feel i deserve it as compensation for missing out on a swirl.

this requires some thought.

thank you all for support. i knew i wasn't BU. it just helps to hear it from someone who is removed from the situation.

i will look into counselling

Buy all unswirled cupcakes and bar of green and blacks.

Use potato peeler to create own much better swirls.

Eat remains of bar when children in bed

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:15

i could eat all the swirls myself but my dcs have developed my highly sensitive nose for chocolate. they would smell the chocolate my deceit a mile off. and they would know from the lack of sad eyes that mum had had her fix.

Get Anne Robinson onto it! Wall of shame for Supervalu.

Put a whole flake on top of your cupcake! Make the swirl look inferior.

ivykaty44 · 28/04/2012 18:17

how many chores do you all do in the week - hoovering dusting etc?

i would start a chart for chores and the one with the most stars at the end of the week gets both swirls and the other two get plain cakes

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:17

and the winner is jicky!! Grin

yay!! that is it.that's what i'll do. oh how relieved i am. you have saved me from an almost certain ban from supervalu! i am so grateful.

ooh lots of good ideas coming in now. chore chart? hmm, that would mean I would have to take part in chores too? i dont think that's an option.

Excellent.

Sadly this has reminded me the only chocolate I have in the house is Lindt with Wasabi. This is an abomination. It sits in the fridge taunting me.

WifiNappies · 28/04/2012 18:23

Take all swirls off and save them til they're divisible by 3 which will only take... ummm... 3 weeks. Then put swirl back on safe in the knowledge you have an excess of swirls to cover you for the next 3 weeks.

I knew that Pure Maths A-level would come in handy Grin

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 18:26

Grin @ wifi

oh jicky Sad that is quite upsetting to hear. do you have support in RL? could someone you trust bring you some chocolate?

Start a reinstate the swirl petition ?!

jicky · 28/04/2012 18:57

Thank you for the concern.

dh is here but I persuaded him we could start the wine before 6 as it is raining. Chocolate is a drive away. This shows the perils of instant gratification !!

I will survive (& remember to pick some up with the papers in the morning).

I think you should have some kind of competition. A competition that will definitely leave you winning at least one swirly bun.

RandomMess · 28/04/2012 19:04

Just go for a rota for the swirly ones - any arguing and you get all the swirls!

IAmBooyhoo · 28/04/2012 19:07

i am noting all these ideas. i like the competition one! Grin

You never have to have a turn without that way...

crazykat · 28/04/2012 19:46

You can buy whole tubs of chocolate swirls from supermarkets, I think you can get caramel flavoured one too. That way you can have as many as you want.

ivykaty44 · 29/04/2012 13:12

make sure it is chores that you already do

Turn the tv on or open the front door and bring milk in, turn the lights off when everyone goes to bed

Your in charge so you make up the rules on chores Wink
