Not sure that awesome is the word I'd use to describe him... I'm 2/3 of the way through his autobiography, and he's had a somewhat, er, interesting life. Regarding his comments on these links, I can imagine he argued his case eloquently, but have mixed feelings on his views.

But having said that, he is strangely attractive, and can imagine that in my younger days, I would have fancied the pants off him!!!

I bloody love Russell Brand.
He is gorgeous, intelligent and compassionate.

I was going to say YABU because i don't like him but i watched the clips and he is really good and definitely puts the MPs in their place. Like the Theresa May joke.

YANBU - we need people like him to speak out with knowledge and understanding.

My name is Sparklingbrook and I love Russell Brand.

There are few people I loathe as much as Russell Brand. It goes beyond the rational. The way he looks, the way he talks, his self-importance, his attitude to women...everything, really. Makes my flesh crawl.

I think he made some fair points. Something needs to be done because current laws/attitudes towards drug abuse are not solving the problem.

PMSL at his handling of the Select Committee, especially the bit about Theresa May. They looked woefully out of touch, by comparison.

YANBU.

It costs ££££ to arrest, try and imprison people who commit crimes because of/to support their drug habits. They are put into prison (where drugs are still available) and leave with the same addiction that makes crime a necessity for them - drugs are fairly pricey.

You could spend less money on effective treatment programmes and have much better results in terms of reoffending.

No government has done it because it isn't considered politically expedient.

How about we actually start doing what's proven to work rather than continuing to waste money on things that have been proven to be ineffective for the sake of victorian morality.

I haven't watched the links, but I like him a lot. He does some stupid things sometimes but so does every other person I've ever met, no-one's perfect!
