eggyblackett · 23/04/2012 21:45

Lovely villages to the North. The actual town centre is err...

FashionEaster · 23/04/2012 21:49

Think the Bramptons are also nice, which is north.

And mine, Fanjo! Dragon Dragon

blapbird · 24/04/2012 00:27

the town itself is just average but the villages and countryside are vast and beautiful

SnakebiteRattlinBoogaloo · 24/04/2012 00:28

Well I've been here since October and can't say I'm particularly excited about it.

The only thing it's got going for it so far for us is a fab soft play with bouncy castles where I can let the kids run free for 2hrs for a great little price of £2.75 Grin

fullofregrets · 24/04/2012 00:29

Not much. I went in one of the bars. It smelt like wee. I left.

blapbird · 24/04/2012 00:31

hence your nickname fullof? Smile

AndFanjoWasHisNameO · 24/04/2012 00:34

Grin Poppy trying to convince myself she's only worthy of the one as she's coming up on her broomstick to stay tomorrow

cheerup · 24/04/2012 06:55

It's my birthplace - Barratt Maternity Hospital - and probably hasn't changed that much since the early '70s. If it still has a stand alone maternity hospital that would be one thing going for it. Apart from that I can't think
of anything.

PeriPathetic · 24/04/2012 07:00

@Cheerup - DD was born there!

Northampton is vile. Glad I'm out of there. Not happy about possibly moving back in a couple of years Sad

DollyBantry · 24/04/2012 07:01

Lovely villages and countryside. Town itself is a complete sh*thole.

msrisotto · 24/04/2012 07:04

Aww I grew up in a gorgeous little conservation village in northants. Yeah the town centre leaves a lot to be desired but you know, it has plus points! It's not far to milton keynes for shopping....

chezchaos · 24/04/2012 07:06

Sywell is gorgeous

fairyqueen · 24/04/2012 07:09

Near Rushden you'll find Stanwick Lakes, which is the best outdoor playarea in the world IMHO. Lots of climbing, water, sand etc. DD has 'stanwick clothes' because she gets so muddy there, but so very, very happy. Shes 9 and has years left before she grows out of it. There's also a lovely walk around the lake, with distractions every so often such as a rope bridge, straw bales and a massive swing. It is quite simply the best place for kids ever, and i wish we could go more often. (a long way from us but close to grandma)

manicinsomniac · 24/04/2012 07:14

Good theatre

Not much else though.

dexter73 · 24/04/2012 07:16
