About three a day. Rich tea fingers felt ok but now they have a taste for bourbons. Oh dear me.

Mine loves biscuits. And cereal bars. Have been giving him those breakfast cereal biscuits in hope they are a bit better for him. He'd prefer a jammy dodger or a custody cream. I'd also like to live on biscuits, truth be told.

Stopusingallthenn · 23/04/2012 14:14

A custody cream? Grin

Flimflammery · 23/04/2012 14:17

I think when your kids are 21 you're not going to look back and wish you'd worried more about giving them biscuits.

I often watch my DCs eating their daily bowl of three different kinds of sugar-laden cereal, one of which must be chocolate, and sigh, remembering how they used to eat organic porridge with pureed fruit.

Bluebellsinseason · 23/04/2012 14:19

I'd give them the Organix and Goodies stuff if they were cheaper and tasted as good...

I don't think a couple or three a day is bad as long as diet is varied and healthy but they can get addictive, particularly Jaffa cakes, I love jaffa cakes. Bourbons are lovely too.

Aboutlastnight · 23/04/2012 14:24

I have a pet hate. Which is those horrid dry little rice cake things that some mothers seem to insist their poor DC eat instead of a nice biscuit. FGS

Mine have rich tea fingers, milk biscuits, oaty biscuits an are partial to the odd bourbon and it is much more satisfying not to mention much cheaper as a snack.

Bluebellsinseason · 23/04/2012 14:26

Ha ha, the rice cakes. Ever so sticky and stubborn too when mixed with saliva. Must remember to use them when fixing broken toys!

littlemslazybones · 23/04/2012 14:26

Rich tea biscuits don't count, surely? They are merely a shadow of a PROPER biscuit. Although, tbf, you can redeem a rich tea biscuit with lashings of nutella.

Aboutlastnight · 23/04/2012 14:29

ooooh

you could sandwich two rich teas with nutella, yum, yum.

and healthy. cos it's nutella.

bejeezus · 23/04/2012 14:30

Ah, its nice in here. I enjoy an appreciation of biscuits. Im with you aboutlastnigt on the rice cake front...fucking rice cakes, I tell ya!!

sugarice · 23/04/2012 14:31

I have now raided the amaretti biscuits that I save for cake making after reading this, god they taste fantastic Smile

Bluebellsinseason · 23/04/2012 14:31

And they bloody stink! (rice cakes that is, not beautiful Bourbons).

OP posts:
FunnysInLaJardin · 23/04/2012 14:33

yes. It is really really bad to give your DC biscuits. Mine never have them. It's against our religion

Bluebellsinseason · 23/04/2012 14:33

Amaretti, now that would be almost an educational biscuit. I could feel ok about giving him one of those. Just do a little talk about Italy and guilt-free.

CogitoErgoSometimes · 23/04/2012 14:34

As long as they are traditionally boring biscuits like Rich Tea, Morning Coffee or anything else hard, cheerless and whitish. Anything fancier and you'd have to turn yourself in to SS.

Vondo · 23/04/2012 14:34

digestive biscuits with nutella or strawberry jam - yum yum!

My DS3 has a love of bourbon biscuits and is regularly heard to say "can I have a biscuit, just a little one?" Grin

CogitoErgoSometimes · 23/04/2012 14:34

btw... rice-cakes are just cork tiles that can't be bothered.

ReindeerBollocks · 23/04/2012 14:35

Aren't digestives supposed to be the worst biscuit for salt/sugar content?

This is why I give my kids fig rolls - then they stop asking for biscuits and I can eat them all.
