Does this make me really bad?

Nutella and strawberry jam. Way too messy. Crumbs are an issue on their own thanks very much.

And don't forget the art of dunking. Knowing when an 'edible biscuit' is about to turn into 'soggy pile of poo at the bottom of the mug' is a skill no-one should leave childhood without.

bejeezus · 23/04/2012 14:43

corgo I make my kids their own cup of tea to practice that important life skill, and to keep their over dunked biscuit slop OUT of my cup

janelikesjam · 23/04/2012 14:45

hahaha. yes, i agree, an educational biscuit is the answer!

gastrognome · 24/04/2012 11:31

Everything in moderation. Why not give them a couple of biscuits, as long as they are getting a good variety of fresh food, fruit and veg too.

Aboutlastnight · 24/04/2012 11:35

I used to Hmm at the mothers who huddled in the kitchen at toddler group snaffling chocolate biscuits while their children ate fecking oatcakes and breadsticks (yick)

They used to Hmm at me when any of my Dds came in and asked for a biscuit and I gave it to them.

Grin at this thread. many years ago I was flamed - seriously big time flamed by several posters on here who decided that becasue my child had
A) Squash (and not water) and
B- biscuit (not a rice cake or fruit) for snack after lunch then i was a really bad mother who needed to "re-think" my parenting

I can still remember it.

madmouse · 24/04/2012 11:41

I have an underweight 4 year old. So I give him biscuits and chocolate. Anyone wanna call me a bad mum and try keeping the weight on an overactive 4 year old with cerebral palsy on rice cakes and fruit, good luck.

Having said that he just stole my apple to eat alongside his second biscuit Grin

bamboobutton · 24/04/2012 11:42

i'm teaching my children about their scottish heritage by giving them shortbread every time they whine day.

'tis edumatcational.

Sirzy · 24/04/2012 11:43

Lol saltire - if Ds didn't have squash he would soon be dehydrated. I think the squash is the lesser of 2 evils!

He rarely has biscuits but that's because I don't buy them because I would end up eating them!

bejeezus · 24/04/2012 11:44

madmouse I sympathize. My 6yo has the appetite of a tiny tiny sparrow and is NEVER still. Rice cakes? Pah!

I give my kids Fox's bisqwits so the scary panda doesn't come and knee cap me

Aboutlastnight · 24/04/2012 11:50

I think some adults forget what it's like to be a kid. A nice biscuit and a cup of squash is one of life's small pleasures as a child. Also milky tea and a nice plate of oaty biscuits to dunk. mmmm

I am partial to those Borders chocolate gingers.

Raisedonadietofbrokenbiscuits · 24/04/2012 11:54

Recently I have just discovered marmalade on dark chocolate digestives. Like a grown up, pimped up Jaffa cake. I will definitely NOT be giving DD this once she has reached legal biscuit eating age, as there will then be less for me.

Surely, no children should be allowed biscuits because then there'd be none left for us? Wink

catchafallingstar · 24/04/2012 11:56

in the grand scheme of things, giving kids biscuits is not worth stressing over....
Aboutlastnight - borders chocolate gingers are delicious and wasted on my children because they are 'too spicy' Hmm

they tend to stick to jammy dodgers, bourbons (yuck, yuck, yuck), digestives and choc chip cookies...

I've no problem in giving them biscuits and milk for a snack....

bejeezus · 24/04/2012 11:58

Recently I have just discovered marmalade on dark chocolate digestives

WHAT??? What's wrong with you?! that sound yeuck? What made you do that?!

Aboutlastnight · 24/04/2012 12:00

Nutella on rich tea, marmalade on choc digestives - it's like the dark side of biscuit eating.

Sirzy · 24/04/2012 12:01

Digestives with chocolate Philadelphia on. Most delicious snack ever

bejeezus · 24/04/2012 12:02

Really?? am i missing out?

I like marmalade, I like dark choc digestives.......I just cant imagine the 2 together AT ALL

catchafallingstar · 24/04/2012 12:16

chocolate philadelphia......not sure.
I like chocolate. I like philadelphia. Am pretty sure I would throw up if I ate the two together. Creamy cheese and chocolate does not go together, sorry.

madmouse · 24/04/2012 12:18

NiniLegsInTheAir · 24/04/2012 12:38

squoosh · 24/04/2012 12:40

squoosh · 24/04/2012 12:40
