AIBU not to care?
The forum police who have spent the last few years glued to their computer making a mental note of each and every topic ever posted are a pain in the *

I don't care either! I haven't got time to troll through however many thousand threads there are, and if I've already commented on one thread and don't feel like going through it all again, guess what? I don't bother!! I go a thread that I haven't done before!! Wow, now there's a novel idea!! Smile

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2012 09:23

The thing is any new people joining don't know what has already been discussed do they? So they inadvertently start what to them is a new topic and they get a whole tin of biscuits. Sad

Sparklingbrook · 18/04/2012 09:24

I have been known to post. 'You will get mixed views on this'.

MrsKittyFane · 18/04/2012 09:33

Sparkling and Debs - Exactly that. People come and go on MN (or at least I do) I've been here for 8 years but haven't read every post written by every MNer like some.
So what if a new poster starts a thread about B'feeding in public (for example)? Why the hell not?
It's all a bit "Huh, that's been done to death, where have you been?"

I think some people like to make a poiunt of being a "longtimer" like it gives certain credentials or something but it doesnt...

MrsKittyFane · 18/04/2012 09:39

Amazing :o
Do MN veterans get badges ?! or perhaps MN could highlight their usernames in a different colour I'm thinking gold

ChaoticAngel · 18/04/2012 10:05

Ooh, nice sparkly badges Grin

I did give someone a Biscuit on another thread yesterday but that's because I thought it was a wind up. Threads that have been done before don't bother me, sometimes you'll get someone posting providing a different perspective, that hasn't been provided on previous threads. If I click on a thread that has been done before and I'm not interested in reading it then I leave it.

MrsKittyFane · 18/04/2012 10:13

I'm changing mine to the 'martyr' badge.

:o

OP posts:
SillyBeardyDaddyman · 18/04/2012 10:16

Biscuit badge for you chaotic!

Tbh I don't read all of MN. So sometimes I see a thread and start to comment and then see the op get flamed and am left a bit Confused

Let people post what they want and people can answer if they want. If it's been done before and you'd rather not comment, then bugger off and let them get on with it!

BusinessTrills · 18/04/2012 10:19

YABU to start a thread moaning about MN, yes.

Is that what you were asking?

You said you were going to start a thread that had been done to death then failed to actually ask a question or do anything except moan.

The addictive dangers of MN rear their ugly hydra heads again!

Originalplurker · 18/04/2012 10:41

This has always annoyed me about mn. So to some if you weren't on the bus the first time round the tough we were born too late had out kids too late, later than the, that is.

Some topics are the same but personal replies to your specific situation are much more supportive and help in some instances get through an issue in real time. I'm totally inspired. Y the support given on the relationship threads particularly where women need to leave an awful situation, they gonna tell them to do a search.

Let's face it if we were all capable of original thought, discussion advice etc we'd be journalists or academics pioneeri g the way.

Isn't that why some mouldiest left?
