AIBU not to care?
The forum police who have spent the last few years glued to their computer making a mental note of each and every topic ever posted are a pain in the *

I've had people say this on every forum I've ever been in. I pay no attention. If you've discuseed it then move on to something you haven't. YOU might have done the topic to death but obviously others haven't.

Originalplurker · 18/04/2012 10:42

Sorry bloody iPad I'm spitting feathers over my own AIBU.

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 18/04/2012 10:45

I can understand it on forums/topics where there is a clean cut answer (eg car maintenance/computer programming) but not in parenting where there are so many variables.

The specifications of an 02 Nissan micra will always be the same. Someone's opinions on childcare can change.

Viva la revolution!

Pandemoniaa · 18/04/2012 13:20

I know the internet is so far removed from real life as to be a quite parallel universe but whenever I read "done to death/nest of vipers" threads I have this mental picture of a dinner party composed of people whose conversations range along these lines:

Person A: I wonder if we'll get snow this winter.
Person B: I'm not answering you. We did weather last week.
Person A: But I wasn't here last week.
Person B: Have a biscuit then.
Person C: Not biscuits again?! What is it with you people?
Person D: No pudding for me, thanks. You are all bullying cunts and I'm going home (gets up from table, throws down napkin and marches out, slamming door.)
Person B: Fuck her. She's a troll anyway.

Ilovedaintynuts · 18/04/2012 13:29

I totally agree.
My heart sinks when someone new posts and the first replies are:

This again?

Haven't we just done this?

It's plain old mean. It is to show the newbie 'look how long I've been here, I'm more important than you'.
I've been here years and finds loads of threads boring, I just move on.

I agree OP

And it's even worse when people suggest the OP should have searched to see how many threads there have already been on the subject.

Why would you want to do that?

So you can post your POV on it and get shouted at for bumping a zombie thread??

The world's gorn mad I tell ya!

Originalplurker · 18/04/2012 15:15

MrsKitty hope you didn't get into trouble for your late arrival at work this morning? Tut tut

MrsKittyFane · 18/04/2012 18:32

silly I wasn't late after all! Thanks to no traffic on the roads!
MN is addictive :o
It happens every time I have a half day, I spend the morning in PJs on here Hmm!! I can see it now:
"AIBU to think that my DC's teacher should get to work on time and spend less time on MN chatting?"
